This is not true in the Silicon Valley, or any other tech sector.
I’m now solidly in my 8th month of unemployment.
Trump has completely rejected his good first-term policies on H-1B, Green Card, etc.
It is disgusting.
Excellent!
President Trump needs to keep up the good work.
Agreed!
It is very tough in high tech right now and has been for about 1.5 years.
My friends in Silicon Valley say its bad too.
The first paragraph is the complete opposite of the headline.
Now Trump needs to get rid of H1B visas.
The whole article is FUBAR.
And also 6 year OPT practical training visas.
Even before 1.5 years ago, interviews were few and far between in the Hartford, CT area.
Note that Trump has capitulated on the release of Epstein’s information, but is still holding out on keeping H1-B and OPT hires safe.
Companies are replacing Indians with Native Americans?
There are no white beards inside a wafer fab.
Townhall should fire whoever is tasked with proofreading their stories. Literally got the first sentence wrong, confusing the reader right at the start.
You have to read the entire article. Made my head explode wondering which is correct, the Title, the first paragraph that contradicts the title, then way down the quote from the Dept. Of Labor which should have been the first paragraph. 🤪
Tech & Modeling Agencies, that also get those “special” visas believe it or not...
Well it ain’t plummeted in my town. It looks like Mexico city here. Mexican flags everywhere.
“The first paragraph is the complete opposite of the headline.”
i’m glad someone else noticed this, and there are many other contradictory and nonsensical statements throughout this article due to incorrect tenses and other types of errors’ article was clearly thrown together by a really bad AI without ANY editing by an actual human writer possessing at least first year college English writing proficiency ...
My kids on the east coast said the same thing.
Fortunately they are all gainfully employed and managed to each build themselves a VERY unusual skill set of education and experience that makes them valuable to their employers.
Both my daughters are physics majors and VERY good in math, and are reasonably computer savvy, at a level of skill to legitimately qualify them for the jobs they hold.
And sad to say, because I hate quotas, being female didn’t hurt. Mr mm, who used to be involved with screening new hires where he worked, said it was VERY difficult to find a female who was actually qualified for the tech positions.
We and they are truly blessed.
This Townhall article is well intentioned...but poorly organized and results in not communicating well to the reader.
Moral: Just as with immigrants, some US Citizens are more qualified for their job than others. Our Public Education system has failed. Centralized bureaucracy in a Dept of Ed has failed. If the Dept of Ed is terminated, Some states and local districts will improve the education product. Some will stay the same. Some will end up worse.
But those who can and would do better should not be held back just because the others cannot keep up.
“native-born workers have accounted for ALL job gains since January.”
Make up yer mind.
