Trump’s base doesn’t want excuses—they want Epstein’s client list and the truth about TWA 800, not another cover-up dressed in national security.
Recent media reports claimed that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino was livid over a memo issued by the Justice Department last week stating that there was no Jeffrey Epstein “client list” and no further records from the Epstein file would be released. Nothing to see here. Move on. Bongino was reportedly threatening to resign if Attorney General Pam Bondi didn’t resign over her seeming incompetence.
If accurate, I think Bongino was right to take a hard line on this. For reasons I don’t understand, Bondi has really botched this Epstein thing, which is visceral for most of Trump’s base in terms of bringing real accountability and transparency to government. I laid out months ago in a column that Trump’s people needed to take the Epstein case and transparency related to it very seriously, or he risked permanently damaging his presidency.
The Epstein case is much more than one bad guy. Or even his victims and fellow abusers. It’s become a symbol of the much larger issue of trust by the American people in their own government. And President Trump himself had been fanning that flame for years, including a promise to deliver the goods on the Epstein case. For him now to try to tell us to “move on” is complete tone-deafness. Bongino, who also beat that drum, can read the room. He knows how enormous the issue is for the MAGA base, ...
I think it’s too late for Bondi to be saved on this. he made repeated, emphatic claims on Fox News, promising to deliver the goods and claiming the “client list” was sitting on her desk, waiting to be reviewed.

James Kalstrom, head of the New York FBI field office, was retiring within months and had absolutely had it with the extreme degree of public skepticism regarding the federal government’s investigation into TWA flight 800.
He berated one caller to Bob Grant’s afternoon talk radio show on WABC in New York: “Get a life!”

I knew TWA 800 was just another one of those kooky right wing conspiracy theories when every commercial jet with the same type of fuel tanks was grounded for months to remediate dangerous center fuel tank issues.

If Epstein had a list only he would know where it was hidden.
If the FBI had the list they wouldn’t leave it in a cabinet for Bongino to find.
Anyone with any experience in missile testing understands that live fire testing off the shores of Long Island would never be permitted.
No member of a missile firing ship has come forward with eye-witness testimony that such a firing took place. There are several hundred personnel on a navy cruiser/destroyer. It’s preposterous to believe that every single crew member would remain silent. And, no, an order to silence those crew members would be, on it’s face, illegal and unenforceable.

I’m interested in the Butler, PA assassination attempt on the president . Tommy Crooks died, the end is not good enough . Other than the two USSS clowns that retired , recently a handful of agents were scolded, lol.
I would have thought that the attempt would have received a competent investigation .
This issue has a lot of moving parts and one of them is that there was a concerted effort by Democrat Judges to seal all of the original court docs and grand jury testimony to conceal what has been destroyed and what has been fabricated.
Plus the recent Democrat wrap up smear to get Trump involved.
All the drama of the last week has set the stage for public demands for a release of grand jury testimony and evidence and a special prosecutor.
This pressures the Judges who have been blocking the disclosure to unseal the evidence and for President Trump to appoint a special prosecutor to vett the evidence and bring any charges that are legit.
These moves will allow President Trump to circumvent the efforts of the guilty Democrats to turn this into a political food fight by attacking their enemies and prevent the Democrats from playing their patented game of accusing the the innocent of what the Democrats themselves have been doing.
Trumps comments to "supporters" he would turn his back on are not about abandoning his MAGA base but are a warning to the new media influencers that are making bank from the unprecedented access to the White House that Trump has provided them.
Access is the mothers milk of Washington political and media life. On influencer even wn]ent so far as to try to oust Bondi and get one of her friends appointed to enhance her media access to the DOJ since she is not exactly on Bondi's speed dial list.
These new media influencers income is 100% dependent upon hopping on controversial issues and generating dramatic story line content that drives the news cycle and capture the public attention for the YouTube view hits that make them the big bucks.
Their desire to turn Trump's complicated efforts to deal with the Epstein issue by turning it into a destructive reality show drama for career advancement and profit on the back of the Trump Administration were unhelpful and damaging to the Trump Administration.
Trump was putting them on warning that if they start letting their greed and ambition drive media coverage that becomes a negative for his administration their press cards and access to the White House would be revoked.
It was a combination of heat (due to a ground delay) raising the temperature of the vapor in the tanks, and a faulty wire (worn due to age) near a sensor on the tank. There was an arc, and that was all she wrote.
That is far more believable than a shoulder fired missile hitting a target well above it’s maximum altitude, or a US Navy ship conducting a live fire exercise near one of the busiest air corridors in the world…
Leaving aside any specific claim—I would have expected that the FAA would have grounded planes to make sure they were inspected for similar problems.
That did not happen—and was a red flag at the time.

Not permitted? It would not even be conceived.
Ranges exist for a reason. You can conduct live fire testing in combat conditions without posing danger to others and preventing the testing to be viewed by hostile powers.
10 years or so prior to TWA 800, the USN did shoot down an airliner during a confrontation off Iran and fessed up and apologized.
The only way a USN ship would fire a live round off New York would be in combat with a hostile force.
TWA 800 was shot down by Iranians, period. Solved. 💔
It’s been awhile, but while they did not ground them, I think the FAA did order wiring inspections on older 747s.
If Bongino was “taking a hard line” he would have resigned a week ago.
Maybe cause Bongino saw the evidence and said yeh there isn’t anything here and said back to work
