Three Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were killed in a blast at a compound that houses the agency’s arson and explosive unit on Friday morning.
The explosion at the Biscailuz Center Academy Training facility in East Los Angeles resulted in the department’s worst loss of life in a single event since 1857.
The officers were identified as Detective Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Detective Victor Lemus and Detective William Osborn, all of whom were assigned to the Special Enforcement Bureau’s Arson Explosives Detail.

Aerial footage from local news helicopters showed the explosion happened in a parking lot where patrol cars and box trucks were parked.

Democrat mercenaries in involved, no doubt.
Prime suspects.
This is straight out terrorism.
Reports
Raided apartment
Confiscated military grade device
It detonated after they brought it back
EOD disaster or intentional…unk
Never cut the red wire.
That would be my default assumption.
That image of an SUV with the markings on the pavement just under the bumper and behind it makes me wonder if it was a device need to be similar to a Claymore or something like that.
I was also wondering (not being someone who knows anything about EOD except what I’ve seen in movies… And we know how accurate those kinds of things are.) how would three specialists get taken out? I never recall hearing or seeing it, but I always just assumed that when there was a risk of any kind of device being detonated, the personnel around the device would be minimized during the process.
Those poor men and their families.
We are long past the time when organizations like ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter Parent, and those who support them organizationally and financially are declared terrorist organizations.
I had not considered the prospect that the device could’ve possibly been built to be detonated specifically during the phase of disarmament (If that is what you meant)
Very sad story and very sorry for the families involved.
Experience doesn’t accumulate in parallel.

Oh, dear, three experienced guys who blew up.
Reminds me of a story our profs told us about when getting my degrees in nuclear engr.
A military test reactor was being ........ “exercised” — as it had always been. Basically, jiggle everything to make sure everything still moves. Anyhoo, the story is that they got over confident and while one guy was manually lifting a control rod out of the core another guy goosed him — a joke. Uhh, the guy pulling the rod out (not an intended pun there) jerked upright — pulling the rod out waaaaay too much and too fast. Core went supercritical and blew up in a steam explosion. All three were instantly killed — the guy with the rod was nailed to the ceiling.
The motto = don’t pi$$ about with serious stuff.
Was Bill Ayres in LA? This has that Weather Underground vibe. Surely, he’s passed his knowledge to the younger generation.
I am wondering why someone hasn’t double tapped the Ayers with their history of terrorism? Do they have protection from LE?
Grenade fuses wouldn’t do that kind of damage. A grenade definitely would.
This is well described in the excellent book:
LINK: Atomic Accidents: A History of Nuclear Meltdowns and Disasters: From the Ozark Mountains to Fukushima
The guy wasn't goosed...and nobody really knew, but the author Mahaffey said that some who were familiar with the men involved thought that the guy who did it was showing off in kind of a silly inter-service rivalry, since two of the guys were Army and one was a Navy Seabee 1st Class, and the youngest guy (one of the Army guys) was said to be kind of prone to that type of thing...but in the end, nobody knows.
Thanks...sure looks like terrorism to me.
You think these 3 EOD guys didn’t know how to handle a grenade?
