Democrat Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh laid out his vision on Sunday to freeze rent, rapidly raise the minimum wage and refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
Fateh, who is currently a Minnesota state senator, posted a video to his X account calling to “protect” Minneapolis from a “hostile White House,” increase the minimum wage by $20 by 2028 and prohibit the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) from “interacting” with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The mayoral candidate, who announced his candidacy in December, has a platform that strongly resembles Democrat New York City mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani’s.
“Protecting all of our communities from Donald Trump means not letting MPD interact with ICE, whether it’s for an immigration raid or not. Our residents deserve a mayor who will stand up to Donald Trump and say, ‘no, not in our community,'” Fateh said.
Like Fateh, Mamdani threatened to potentially use his power as mayor to interfere with ICE’s operations that aim to detain and deport illegal immigrants who are convicted or charged with heinous criminal acts. President Donald Trump warned that Mamdani could be placed under arrest if he interferes with federal immigration enforcement during a July 1 roundtable in Florida.
Border czar Tom Homan has also warned that any government official who obstructs federal agents’ duties could be subject to prosecution.
Fateh claimed in his latest campaign video that 47% of calls to MPD can be “diverted to [a] non-police response” because officers are not social workers and cannot always provide the appropriate response. He called on passing “rent stabilization” to end so-called “price gouging” and he has further introduced a plan to “prevent rental evictions” by implementing a Just Cause eviction policy, according to his website.
Fateh represents Minnesota’s 62nd senate district, which includes south Minneapolis in Hennepin County.

Rock bottom sucks.
If Minneapolis votes for this butt-ugly POS, terrorist-loving scumbag, they’ll deserve all they get
Yes.
“How low can you go?”

Sounds like a real he-man type:
“Protecting all of our communities from Donald Trump means not letting MPD interact with ICE, whether it’s for an immigration raid or not.” “...a mayor who will stand up to Donald Trump...”
Will he point his finger at President Trump like when Gavin forced his presence at the airport so he could jab his finger at Trump to look tough and confrontational for the news clips.
Barf.
Almost sounds like Omar. She's the one who married her brother.
Muslims in Minnesota are not like ethnic populations of the past such as “I’m from Poland but I am now an American, not a Polish American.” Really outdated now.
The only thing that will keep this communist Islamist out of office is the fact that he is butt ugly.
To be fair, she said “Well, he is kinda cute.”
I miss the old days, when the differences between a Democrat and a Republican were minor.
1950s:
Adlai Stevenson (D) - Good guy. A bit on the liberal side.
Dwight Eisenhower (R) - Good guy. A bit on the conservative side.
There are still good Republicans. But every Democrat is now some combination of crazy and subversive. What the hell happened?
Has a villain ever looked so retarded?
And to just imagine that Minneapolis was the headquarters for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
70 years of liberal influence in schools, media and culture.
Wouldn’t that be what liberal Democrats want? Would they then be content?
Weird combination.
Our big cities — for all their problems — used to be economic engines of production. Still are in some countries.
B.HusseinOsama damn well “fundamentally deformed” the most lily white place he could find in America,
and the morons wanted it/him !

These economic engines still exist. But thanks to our “free trade” politicians, they’re all overseas now.
I never thought about it before. But when industry left our cities, so did the middle class. Who’s left? A small number of wealthy people, and a large underclass.
Not exactly the folks the Founders hoped would make up the electorate.

Yes, he did. Obama imported a ton of Muslims into the area.
Foreigners should be banned from holding political office in the US.
