GOP U.S. Rep. Scott Perry raised nearly $900,000 in the latest campaign fundraising period, while Democratic frontrunner Janelle Stelson raised over $500,000 since jumping into the 2026 race on Monday.
Both campaigns released statements touting their second-quarter fundraising totals in what could shape up to be a rematch of the 2024 10th Congressional District general election that Perry won by about 5,100 votes.
Patriots for Perry announced that Perry’s $885,000 haul in April, May and June was the most he has ever raised in a non-election year. Perry has $1.2 million in available cash.
Perry spent nearly $239,000 in the quarter, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
There was no FEC report available for Stelson on Thursday. Her campaign did not immediately respond to questions from PennLive.
“The outpouring of financial support for Congressman Perry has been astounding, and with more than $1.2 million already on hand, he’s very well prepared to take on any and all opponents,” said Matt Beynon, a spokesman for Patriots for Perry.
Stelson, a former TV broadcaster, announced she’s raised over $500,000 since unveiling on Monday that she was running again. She lost to Perry in November by a little over 1 percentage point, the second smallest margin achieved by a Democratic congressional challenger in the country.
“I am incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received since announcing our campaign to fire Scott Perry and give Central Pennsylvania the representation we deserve,” Stelson said in a statement.
“Working families are tired of Congressman Perry ignoring us and are ready to elect someone who will actually fight to end the tariff-taxes that raise prices, protect Social Security and Medicaid and ensure a woman’s right to choose,” she said. “We are building the coalition needed to win this seat and it’s clear that momentum is on our side.”
Wednesday night, Stelson received the endorsement of Gov. Josh Shapiro at a campaign event. Shapiro won the 10th Congressional District by 12 percentage points in the governor’s race in 2022.
“Janelle is there for us. She’s a decent, good, honorable person who respects the rule of law and respects you,” Shapiro said in a campaign video. “She’s going to fight for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. She’s going to defend a woman’s right to choose and she’s going to always look out for all of you.”
Beynon seemingly addressed the perpetual analysis that Perry is a vulnerable Republican approaching the 2026 mid-terms.
Democrats have pounded Perry and other Republicans considered endangered over their votes on President Donald Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” which they warn will gut Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) the feeds needy families.
“The support Congressman Perry has received should surprise absolutely no one, because he’s been recognized as one of the most effective members of Congress in delivering for his constituents,” said Beynon. “Today’s report is yet another clear indication that the people of the 10th Congressional District want Congressman Perry to continue fighting for them in Washington.”
Patriots for Perry statement said that he was recently named the most effective Republican member of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation by the Center for Effective Lawmaking at the University of Virginia.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), which has long targeted Perry, issued a statement saying that 31% of his money raised came from Republican leadership committees rather than voters.
“After seven terms in office, Scott Perry has become the kind of D.C. politician he pretends to hate: an extreme party loyalist who falls in line with his bosses even when it hurts his constituents,” said DCCC spokesman Eli Cousin.

Review
Scott has been a good legislator for years as both my state and federal rep. and I’ve consistently voted and supported him. Hey I dont always agree and have had personal discussions and provided reasons as to why.
Perry was my Congressman until the Gerrymandering of York County at the most recent redistricting.
Not that Lloyd Smucker is any disappointment, but I do miss Perry. I live close to the boundary so I put out elections signs for both of them every cycle.
