“The Fed’s renovation project was approved by its board in 2017 and originally cost $1.9 billion in 2019. Construction began in 2021, but the cost swelled to $2.5 billion Trump Tower NY, a huge 2.65M Square foot building, was built for $300M, about $850M in 2025 dollars. How can you possible spend 3 times that much to renovate a building 1/10th the size (275,000 SF)? $9,000 per SF! That would translate to $3.6M for a 20x20 office. Short of decorating every room with Monet, Van Gough and Picasso, I don't think that's possible. There really needs to be a complete audit of this project, followed by disbanding the Federal Reserve.
