shocking new discovery pulls back the curtain on what may have happened in the moments leading up to the Air India plane crash last month -- with a report finding the fuel to the doomed plane's engines was likely cut just after taking flight.

A black-box recording of dialogue between the London-bound Boeing 787's two pilots suggests the captain -- Sumeet Sabharwal, who was reportedly known as "Sad Sack" in flight school because he always looked sorrowful -- flipped fuel switches off, according to a Wall Street Journal report about the official probe into the catastrophe

The Wall Street Journal reports the voice recording indicates the co-pilot, Clive Kunder, asking ... "Why did you cut it off?" which Sabharwal denies doing on the recording.

I read in a story earlier in the week that the Captain’s mother had recently died and he was left to take care of his 90 year old father. No mention of a wife or other family members.

No conspiracy theories on this one? I thought that was par these days. Was Epstein’s favorite vindaloo chef on the plane?

It lets Boeing off the hook.

This is probably the case at this point. But India is hiding a lot of the information. They are majorly hiding a lot of what is on the voice recorder.

Just like Egypt did with flight 990.

I saw the video and they were not doing things right flying that aircraft the way it should have been, on takeoff. The flaps weren’t in the right position for increasing (but low speed) for enough lift and the landing gear was still down when at the point where it was, they should have alredy been up, so drag was a lot higher.

Now we see they flipped the fuel switches off.

One or both pilots wanted this outcome. Or else both were so exhausted or distracted they pulled the flaps up instead of the landing gear, and turned off fuel switches.

Had to be purposeful. Switches are built such that it is difficult to accidently shut off the fuel....unless switches have defective common circuit. Fly by wire is flawless...right?

The fuel flow switches have to be manually moved.

There is not automation.

And they have safety notches to lock them in place.

You can’t accidentally flip the fuel switches off by bumping them. You have to pull the toggle switch out before you flip it.

It was the Captain who pulled the lever. The WSJ gave additional facts that the Co pilot, who was flying the plane, sounded panicked when questioned the Captain. The Captain sounded calm when he said he didn’t do it.

“Switches are built such that it is difficult to accidentally shut off the fuel”

~~~~~~~
This.
The switches in question have to be pulled straight up out of socket, BEFORE
they can be moved to the other position and allowed to be pulled back down
into the other position.
It seems one of the pilots must have done this on purpose.
From what we’ve been told of the recording, The pilot asked the copilot
why he did that. ...Likely an honest question... rather than an attempt to
shift posthumous blame for the crash to “Sad Sack”.
None of us have been permitted to hear the cockpit recording, though,
it seems. The Jury remains “out”.
Yep. I’ve been following Blancolirio and Captian Steve on Youtube. They are the most fact based commentators.
So it had to be done with intent, not accidental.
The first reports from the recorders said the co-pilot was at the controls on takeoff.
You may have seen the video but your “observations” are both incorrect and out of date.
“Now we see they flipped the fuel switches off.”
Very old news. Not revealed by the article.
But India is hiding a lot of the information
There is nothing to hide. Everything is out at this point. The only thing not known is why the captain did it.
