As RedState previously reported, hysterical Democrats and their mainstream media allies have predictably ramped up the scare tactics in light of the procedural Senate vote Tuesday night to advance debate to the floor on the Trump-backed rescissions package, which, among other things, will cut federal funding for NPR and PBS
Not surprisingly, Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who is still facing calls to be primaried in 2028, was among the loudest. "These cuts to local stations couldn't happen at a worse time, with floods and natural disasters front of mind," Schumer stated during a floor speech. "And sometimes, all too often, public broadcasting is the only way for people to hear what's going on."
"It's a matter of life and death. So why is Donald Trump so hellbent on taking away funding from local stations that can literally save lives?" Schumer went on to ask.

The Weather Channel, Local news... Your CELL PHONE weather app...
It is not as if NPR is the ONLY source for this info.
Unless you need to know that it is going to be Hot, Cold, Snow, Rain.. DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE and Trump.
I had no idea that NPR/PBS even did something like this.
Shows how relevant they are.
Yes, what NPR does is not so much report the weather as EXPLAIN the weather. That’s why the Dems are up in arms.
Yeah, I always tune to those for weather alerts. What I fookin’ idjit!
People are going to die!
He’s really upset because both NPR and PBS puke left-wing vomit pretty much 24/7. Tagline very much applies.
Sorry, Chucky. I don't even know where PBS/NPR resides on my radio dial.
When there is severe weather in my area, I listen to local TV or radio stations, not NPR..
Bingo! Exactly..
Chunky is going to miss the PBS cooking shows on backyard barbecuing.
Especially the series on how to cook hamburgers…
Here in the Midwest local TV stations maintain a staff of meteorologists and many have their own Doppler radars. They compete to be the most accurate and provide the best real time warnings. PBS at best will interrupt their usual snooze fest or wild propaganda programming with a canned broadcast from the NWS that you could get sooner with a $40 NOAA radio. Schumer doesn’t have a clue what he is saying.
I live in Appalachia and rely on fiber optic internet. I’ll grant that there are more remote areas. I suspect they rely on outdoor antenna dishes. If you are way out in the boonies and rely on broadcasts, is public broadcasting your only choice? I don’t think so.
So the narrative is: Elmo prevents floods and hurricanes?
Surefire winner!
“ I don’t even know where PBS/NPR resides on my radio dial.”
Easy. Almost always one of the first stations on the left side of the dial! Funny AND true!
