Putin has just discovered the scale of his latest miscalculation
The Telegraph ^

Posted on 07/14/2025 1:28:01 PM PDT by USA-FRANCE

President Donald Trump has finally lost patience with Vladimir Putin. Having promised a “major” announcement on Russia, Trump has now confirmed that the US will dramatically increase weapons supplies to Europe for use in Ukraine and threatened 100 per cent secondary tariffs on Russia’s trade partners. Trump would only provide Russia with an off-ramp if Putin agreed to a ceasefire in Ukraine within 50 days.

Why don't we take this further and talk about Democrat President Roosevelt throwing 110,000 Japanese Americans into concentration camps with no charges for years during WW II, when they had committed no crimes?
Their only “crime”?
They were ethnic Japanese.
Would you then call FDR a Nazi too?

Again India has a bigger population than China but then China totally dominates India in consumer electronics, cars, space etc etc.

Irrelevant. Both countries have about the same population, but the Chinese actually have more people able to purchase goods and services, because the government provides. India has very poor people who must provide for themselves.

And India is not as committed as China in trying to supersede the U.S. in technology and innovations But India is doing their best without having to steal and copy. And they are becoming the alternate destination for of manufacturing our stuff. So in a couple of decades or less, the Indians will be more powerful than the Chinese.

Its not the population, its Chinese hard work and innovation.

It's the Chinese forced labor and the stealing and copying of tech that has modernized China. And they need the UlS. to keep sending them the manufacturing of our tech gadgets, otherwise, it's taps for the Chinese tech and its economy.

“The Chinese do have a lot of engineers, but most of them are for civil engineering and bridges and roads and even for ship-building and aviation. But, all of those fields are using old technology or stolen technology from the U.S. and elsewhere”

Vwry smart observation, by whoever said it. ;)

Wrong again!

Yes YOU are.

Actually, most Engineers produced in China are in Computer Science and Technology. Electrical and Electronics. Mechanical, before Civil.

A country that is building entire new cities with western money,, does need a lot of civil engineers, which would comprise most the engineering needs. The tech side is mostly to decipher and steal and copy what the western countries have developed and sent to China for production of 'our' stuff.

A huge number of their engineers were trained in the U.S., at our universities and in our companies. I trained a few of those myself.

“No need for moon expeditions or rovers on Mars.”

Still true.

Oh yes there is.

A fact cannot be denied.

Europe has been reting to get to Mars for decades, but Europe has yet to get a working rover to the moon or Mars. You just don't have the ability to do it.

No urgency do do that stuff. Whereas China is only doing it for propaganda purposes and for stupid national pride. The Europeans don't have the same nutty need.

Stop crying.

No need to cry about the facts. I love the facts, whereas, you deny the facts. So it's YOU that should stop crying.

” China is only doing the missions for propaganda purposes and to claim that they too can go to the moon or to Mars. “

Copycats!

They've actually gone and done it.

The same way that others copied Columbus and visited the 'new world'.

Copycats!

They can boast about it if they want. Europe hasn't.

Boasting about stuff that's been done before by others. That's so stupid.

Europe is reduced to hanging on the apron strings of America.

Europe as a whole, is a lot more modern that China, which is still largely in the middle-ages. Most Chinese sill live in poverty, about a billion of them.

Pathetic.

Yes, very pathetic. China can only attempt to get out of the middle-ages, while Europe left that era centuries ago.

“The U.S. says: ‘been there, done that’. No big deal and it's no big deal to the Europeans either. “

Yeah, still no big deal.

Big deal for the Europeans but Europe just hasn't.

Bragging and boasting and propaganda, is not going to get Chine away from depending on the western countries from being second-rate. The Europeans, as a whole, are a lot more modernized.

China dominates consumer electronics, cars, have rovers on Mars and the moon, dominate the solar panel business etc etc because they can.
Europe doesn’t because they can't.
Its as simple as that.

“Boasting about stuff that's been done before by others. That's so stupid. “

More like boasting about stuff the Chinese have done and Europe still can't do.
Chuckle.

“Europe as a whole, is a lot more modern that China, which is still largely in the middle-ages”

Chinese trains are faster and more advanced than Europe's trains.
China currently has the longest most advanced bridges and tunnels on the planet.
Chinese hi tech companies dominate what you call European “hi tech” companies.
Europe is fading fast.

China has plenty to brag about since they dominate Europe in so many sectors of technology.
Its pathetic Europeans like you who are boasting over nothing as the Chinese continue to crush you in most sectors of technology

“Irrelevant. Both countries have about the same population, but the Chinese actually have more people able to purchase goods and services, because the government provides. India has very poor people who must provide for themselves. “

Again, India has a bigger population than China and their population is growing faster.
China's advancement In hi tech, trains, space etc is not because they have a huge population or India would be equally advanced.
India is not,
China is far ahead of India in any technology you care to mention.

“It's the Chinese forced labor and the stealing and copying of tech that has modernized China.”

There is no “forced labor” in China.
Today China has some 516 Billionaires, that's more than the whole of Europe.
There maybe a communist party in China that runs the government, but the Chinese people have embraced capitalism and are busy working hard to become very rich.
No need for “forced labor”.

And they need the UlS. to keep sending them the manufacturing of our tech gadgets, otherwise, it's taps for the Chinese tech and its economy.

Nope.
Most hi tech companies in China are Chinese. Owned and run by Chinese making products for the entire world.
They prosper whether the US makes stuff in China or not.

“No urgency do do that stuff. Whereas China is only doing it for propaganda purposes and for stupid national pride. The Europeans don't have the same nutty need. “

A fact is worth repeating. Thanks for that.

China dominates consumer electronics, cars, have rovers on Mars and the moon, dominate the solar panel business etc etc because they can.

All that from stolen and copied technology.

Europe doesn’t because they can't.

They already have all they need. And propaganda and bragging, are not what they're into, like the Chinese are.

" Its as simple as that.

Yep! Shameless Chinese.

“Boasting about stuff that's been done before by others. That's so stupid. “

Yep! Shameless Chinese.

More like boasting about stuff the Chinese have done and Europe still can't do.

It's the same feeling teenagers get when they pass the driving test and get their their driving licenses.

Chuckle.

Yeah, funny indeed, those Chinese.

“Europe as a whole, is a lot more modern than China, which is still largely in the middle-ages”

Still true. While most of China is still living in the middle-ages and very poor, there are parts which do have the modern conveniences. Yet, most of China is very poor.

Chinese trains are faster and more advanced than Europe's trains.

I'd bet they also have cars and planes to get around with. They are so futuristic, those Chinese. ;)

China currently has the longest most advanced bridges and tunnels on the planet.

Advanced bridges? You mean, those things that get people from one point to another over a body of water? What will those brilliant Chinese think of next? And they also have tunnels? Woah! That's never been done before. We better get our spies over there to see how it's done. ;)

Chinese hi tech companies dominate what you call European “hi tech” companies.

Chinese 'high tech"? You mean, Chinese stolen and copied tech. So many times I have to correct you. Give it up already!

Europe is fading fast.

All of Europe is a lot more modern than China.

Take a look:

Sweden is developing a sixth-generation fighter jet called Flygsystem 2020. This stealth fighter, developed by Saab, is intended to replace the JAS 39 Gripen and is expected to enter service around 2035. Flygsystem 2020 will incorporate advanced technologies like manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T), artificial intelligence, and stealth capabilities.

Many other European countries are working on similar projects, while China is still trying to copy American fifth generation fighter jet technology and still not getting it right.

You need to study up and get informed and up-to-date on your material.

“Bragging and boasting and propaganda, is not going to get Chine away from depending on the western countries from being second-rate. The Europeans, as a whole, are a lot more modernized”

Couldn't have said it better myself. Oh, wait...

China has plenty to brag about since they dominate Europe in so many sectors of technology.

It's easy to dominate when China has a much larger population than all of Europe. But, quantity does not mean better. The Europeans are still a lot more modern than all of China. Heck, they even have bridges and tunnels Imagine that. And they too have planes and trains and automobiles, and even computers and smartphone and super-computer and the latest in defense equipment.

china has a lot to learn, and to steal and copy, from the U.S. and even Europe.

Its pathetic Europeans like you who are boasting over nothing as the Chinese continue to crush you in most sectors of technology

I've never even been to Europe, but my ancestors from over 150 years ago did come from Spain. I guess you take that as making me European. But even so, the Europeans are much better off than the Chinese and don't feel the need to steal and copy technology, as the Chinese do. That's ending, btw, with Trump at the helm.

What will you Chinese do then?

All that from solid relentless hard work and innovation, a heck of a lot more than Europe which is fast getting left behind in technology.

Everybody's developing 6th generation fighters.
In a contest between Sweden and China over technology, I'd back the Chinese.
Easy.

All that from solid relentless hard work

For sure, since it's 'hard work' to steal and copy tech from those who did the initial innovation.

and innovation,

If you define stealing and copying to be 'innovation', you are correct.

a heck of a lot more than Europe which is fast getting left behind in technology.

Europe has what it needs and is a lot more modern than the backwards Chinese. Did you even bother to read the highly technical projects that I mentioned to you in the last post? China can't keep up with that type of technology. Rip-offs is what China is busy doing, and even that they're getting wrong.

Everybody's developing 6th generation fighters.

Not even close. China can't even copy correctly the fifth generation from the U.S.

In a contest between Sweden and China over technology, I'd back the Chinese.

Being in total denial, is not a healthy way of being. Take two derangement pills and come back when you are not so insanely jealous.

Easy. It should be easy to copy the technology after stealing it, but even at that, the Chinese are failing.

Some day, the Chinese will be so innovative, that they'll reinvent the wheel.

Grok:

China dominates the list of the world's longest bridges, showcasing advanced engineering in scale, design, and resilience. The Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge, stretching 164.8 km (102.4 miles), holds the Guinness World Record as the longest bridge globally since its completion in 2011. It's part of the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, built to withstand earthquakes, typhoons, and even collisions with 300,000-ton ships, demonstrating cutting-edge structural design. Seven of the top ten longest bridges are in China, including the Tianjin Grand Bridge (113.7 km), Cangde Grand Bridge (105.8 km), and Weinan Weihe Grand Bridge (79.7 km), all part of high-speed rail networks with advanced seismic-resistant technologies. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, at 55 km, is the longest sea-crossing bridge, incorporating cable-stayed spans, an undersea tunnel, and artificial islands, showcasing innovative construction techniques.Outside Asia, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in the U.S. (38.4 km) is the longest continuous bridge over water, but it's significantly shorter and less complex than China's mega-bridges. Taiwan's Changhua-Kaohsiung Viaduct (157.3 km) ranks second globally, but China's dominance in quantity and technological
sophistication—integrating high-speed rail, seismic resistance, and extreme weather durability—sets it apart. Posts on X and web sources like WorldAtlas and BBC Science Focus emphasize China's lead, with no other country matching its scale or pace of bridge construction. While “most advanced” is subjective, China's bridges excel in length, engineering complexity, and resilience, making them global leaders.

“I've never even been to Europe, but my ancestors from over 150 years ago did come from Spain. I guess you take that as making me European.”

I'm not wrong, while you for certain are.

You speak, shill for and behave like someone in Europe.

Believe it or not, one doesn't have to be European to know what they're up to. You Chinese have a very lacking understanding of how the world works.

If it walk like a duck, quacks like a duck.....it must be SmokingJoe. ;)

"But even so, the Europeans are much better off than the Chinese and don't feel the need to steal and copy technology, as the Chinese do."

So true. I wish I'd said that.

The Europeans steal technology all the time.

Everybody does it. But the Chinese are specialists at it. In fact, they innovated the practice.

They just are not able to add to it and innovate with it.

The Europeans have most of what they need, but the Chinese have to steal and copy in order to get anything, and then they brag about being 'the first' at whatever they steal and copy. You Chinese have no shame.

That's why Europe is behind the Chinese in so many technologies and fields.

The Chinese are the best at stealing and copying, which is a dubious accomplishment. The Europeans are happy to leave that kind of 'innovation' to the Chinese. I remember my high-school days, when people used to copy the work of others and got credit for it as if it was the copycat's original work. China is the high-school copycat, but in the form of a country.

Here you go:

There is strong evidence suggesting that China engages in intellectual property (IP) theft and has a significant impact on the global economy. This includes the theft of trade secrets, patents, copyrights, and trademarks. The US government estimates that Chinese IP theft costs the US economy hundreds of billions of dollars annually.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Extent of the Problem:

China is widely considered a principal infringer of intellectual property, and its laws and regulations often put foreign companies at a disadvantage while favoring Chinese companies.

Methods of Theft:

IP theft can occur through various means, including:

Cyber espionage: Hacking into company systems to steal sensitive data and trade secrets.

Forced technology transfer: Requiring foreign companies to transfer technology to Chinese companies as a condition of doing business in China.

Counterfeiting and piracy: Producing and selling fake or unauthorized versions of legitimate products.

Talent recruitment programs: Incentivizing individuals to bring proprietary information and innovation from foreign companies to China.

Economic Impact:

US government officials estimate that Chinese IP theft costs the US economy between $225 billion and $600 billion annually, according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Government Involvement:

There are allegations that the Chinese government is actively involved in or facilitates IP theft, either directly or through its support of state-owned enterprises.

International Efforts:

The US and other countries are working to address Chinese IP theft through international agreements like the World Trade Organization's TRIPs Agreement, as well as through bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations.

In summary, the evidence strongly suggests that China's IP theft is a serious and widespread problem with significant economic consequences for the US and other countries.

BTW, did you know that there are already EVs that can automatically recharge themselves? And can park themselves and can answer the call and go to its 'master' when the owner wants to go somewhere?

Cars that can drive themselves are also robotic and not really new tech, but neither is a robot that can change its own battery.

In any case, you can bet that the tech behind that 'Chinese' robot was also stolen.
