Actually, any number of things. By definition, the attack has progressed to the male's "point of no return". He's not going to react meekly to having his dick caught in a trap.
The chances of it "going right" exist, but I'm not sure I'd bet on it. A firearm or pepper spray seems most as useful, as they can be used before the perp has his dick ready.
I suppose the argument could be made that while the rapist is screaming, that's the time to pull out the firearm or pepper spray and let him have it.
But I'm not a woman, so to each their own.
