President Trump is considering authorizing fresh funding for Ukraine for the first time since he took office in January, multiple diplomatic sources told CBS News.
The sources indicated the new funding could be intended to send a message to Russia, which has pounded Ukraine with drone and missile attacks in recent days. Russia this week launched what Ukraine described as the largest drone attack since its full-scale invasion began in February 2022 — the latest in a wave of aerial assaults that have pummeled Kyiv and other cities.
Mr. Trump hinted earlier this week that he planned to send Ukraine more defensive weapons. Just days earlier, his administration paused some arms shipments — a move one White House official cast as one part of a wider global review of weapons transfers.
The source of the possible new funding for Ukraine is unclear. But U.S. officials told CBS News Mr. Trump has $3.85 billion in leftover Biden-era presidential drawdown authority sitting at his fingertips, which could be used to send American military equipment to Ukraine. Former officials also told CBS News the president has the authority to seize around $5 billion in foreign Russian assets and direct the funds to Ukraine, though neither he, nor former President Joe Biden have used that power.

Take your See BS with a grain of salt.
CBS is not my cup of tea, but, it's news that most media is sharing, including FOX and other conservative media. Trump must be part of the Biden administration now, because he's now showing some support for Ukraine's side.

All this will do is to postpone the eventual surrender. At the cost of many more lives and Billions of dollars.

Promises broken if true. He sure is acting differently than his speech to America.

Trump has been getting a little ‘swampy’ of late. Many of us supported him because he said no more forever wars. We also wanted transparency. And we want all those illegals brought in by the Democrats expelled. Little by little he’s abandoning all of his campaign promises. He best get back on track or his presidency is done.

From what I’m gathering he’s forcig NATO to pay for US contributions out of USA contractural agreements with NATO. Ergo basically focing NATO to pay for it.
NATO is mostly the U.S. So, if NATO is paying for anything, it's mostly the U.S. paying for it. But the U.S. is also separately contributing to the defense of Ukraine.

If you don’t think Israel is involved, I have a time share to sell you.
Okay. Put up or shut up. Where is that time share? But first, show proof that Israel is involved. I'll buy that time share is you have the proof.

I think you’re right.
Trump likely thought he could cut a deal and end the war.
It didn’t work out that way.
Perhaps he’s trying to force Russia to negotiate.

Since when does CBS qualify as a respectable news source?
It's not just from CBS, and it's not just from the liberal media.

Seems like a of finagling going on right now.
Epstein, now a turnaround on Ukraine.
Looks like a possible turnaround on ag workers.
Nobody getting charged for anything - let alone arrested.
I mean they only pulled off a coup for the last 4 years as well as an attempt
on Trumps life.
Running the country with an autopen as well as letting 20 million wetbacks
in with no attempt to vet any of them.
Defrauding the country out of hundreds of billions of dollars.
How does no one ,,no one get arrested?

Kind of looking that way. His priorities seem to be moving away from things that are important to MAGA (i.e., transparency and accountability; extrication from foreign entanglements; less spending, etc.). Very disappointing coming so soon after we elected him.
To: Starboard
Midterms will destroy MAGA. The President is getting very bad advice or lack of.

It’s now Trumps War. It wasn’t before. But it’s his War now.
Good luck to him. He will need it.

Not even a token arrest just to throw a bone to his supporters. He doesn’t seem to have any interest in accountability whatsoever.

The art of the deal, I suppose.

I don't know aw if you're aware, but there are two sides in this war. Russia. Remember them?
The ytoo are suffering massively, with way over a million dead and injured Russian solders, and massive Russian wealth being spent on trying to conquer a tiny nation, which Russia could have done without. Russia is actually suffering much heavier losses than Ukraine, and they won't be able to continue in the fight because their economy is in shambles because of the war. Ukraine has the support of NATO members and even the U.S, and Russia doesn't even begin to compare economically to the NATO countries' total wealth.
Putin is a proud dictator and he can't admit that he's failing, so as long as he can maintain control of his country, he's not afraid to sacrifice his entire country for something he knows is out of reach.

When Zelensky pulled his little stunt at the White House Trump had a golden opportunity to wash his hands of this mess and turn it over to Europe. He even said Zelensky didn’t have any cards left to play, yet he keeps dealing with him. He’s doing things that he said others were stupid for doing.

When one is hit in the face with the real goings on in the world, one will change his views to confront that new reality, which was really the old reality. The world is not a fantasy land. Naive proclamations have to give way to a world full of danger.
