Just wondering, in 1861 were Confederate judges issuing nationwide injunctions to prevent President Lincoln from preserving the Union and enforcing federal law against the southern states that were in open rebellion? And if they had, would Lincoln have obeyed them? Or ignored them?

When a mob attacked the Massachusetts volunteers marching through Baltimore to DC in 1861 and killed six, the mayor of Baltimore met with Lincoln to tell him he could not guarantee the safety of additional federal troops and that further attacks were likely. Sounds like an invading foreign military to me. Peasecul protest - yelling waving flags etc. covered by 1st amendment. Blocking traffic, mobbing cars, trying to get drivers out of cars, attacking federal officers, throwin things using lasers to blind people, etc sounds more like assault as in a forcible felony being or about to be committed upon your person. Sounds like defend yourself with lethal force time
