Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that President Donald Trump’s spending bill has given the Democrats a message to run on.
Christie said, “This is what happens when you have events as the president has pushed them in a way that he wanted to see it done, and you have a very compliant majority in the Congress, as we saw on the bill that got passed this week.”
He continued, “So this is a great couple of weeks for the president in terms of what he wants to accomplish, short-term wins. Long-term concerns, though, real storm clouds over the horizon.”
Host George Stephanopoulos said, “What are the long-term concerns?”

And the message is, lay off the donuts and you won’t need the Medicaid freebie.
“”Host George Stephanopoulos said,....I paid for a big chunk of a Presidential Library.
That’s just rude!! He’s more a beach beluga.
Do they pay LardLad in donuts?
He’s on there every week
There’s a lot of good stuff in that bill that has received no attention. Take student loan debt - it rescinds changes to the public employee forgiveness program that Biden implemented. It will save taxpayers $271B over 10 years. Taxpayers will be relieved and impressed, but those looking to transfer their student loan obligations will be upset. If you examine the voter preferences in those two groups, those who wanted to avoid their obligations and dump it on taxpayers were likely 5:1 Democratic voters. Not a problem with that issue, not a problem with all issues in that bill. Nice try fatso.
What seems to be the problem with kicking deadbeats and illegals off the taxpayer teat.
Just had a thought. Maybe Christie finally has a new home in the Traitors Party being formed by Elon Musk.
(Not it’s real name.)
Think of the star power.
I don’t need to come up with my own trite conventional wisdom when I have Chris Christie to do it for me. People can still have their donuts; to keep Medicaid the able-bodied just need to get off their dead asses and fulfill the work requirements. That’s the winning message on this issue.
The BBB Medicaid work requirement language is problematic both for recipients and administrators. Perhaps:
No Medicaid card shall be issued for coverage of a person over the age of 19 unless:
1. the person receives a government disability pension payment in excess of $200/month,
2. the person is the primary and habitual provider of custodial care for a child under the age of 12 not eligible to be placed in a publicly-funded school on a full-time basis;
3. the person habitually provides care full time during normal weekday working hours for another person for with a severe disability requiring full daytime care for which the person would naturally be or legally is expected to provide;
4. the person provides in an officially designated manner, via pay stubs not over 120 days old, or their equivalent, showing the person working at least 20 hours a week during the pay stub year,
5. the person provides in an officially designated manner via college receipt means not over 180 days old, and pay stubs not over 120 days old, or their equivalent, showing the person was enrolled in an educational institution and worked at least 12 hours a week during the pay stub year,
6. official taxation [unemployment & self-employment] records indicate the person made at least 20 times the hourly minimum wage during a quarter (or time periods of at least 88 days total) not more than eight months past, or
7. the person provides in an officially designated manner via college receipt means not over 180 days old showing the person was enrolled in an educational institution during the past 180 days and official taxation [unemployment & self-employment] records indicate the person made at least 12 times the hourly minimum wage during a quarter (or time periods of at least 88 days total) not more than eight months past.
Note: My college permitted me to work up to 15 hours a week while I was enrolled on a full-time basis.
Medicaid cards for persons over the age of 19 shall be issued to be evidently valid no more than 90 days into the future.
Christie arguing for more unconstitutional gov’t interference in our healthcare worried about what the Democrats will say.
Do what’s right and don’t worry about what the enemy does.

Stephanopoulos was a major, major Democrat Party operative. Yet ABC wants everyone to believe that he’s a neutral news journalist.
And the really sad part is that it’s working.
☹️
Porky should just make it official and change parties. Of course Disney would have him on as the Republican
Chris Christie’s guiding star is his Trump hatred. That is why he is always wrong; he is not rational.
“””Of course Disney would have him on as the Republican””
He could join the other “republican” experts like Jolly, Luttig etc.
Adults capable of working that want Medicaid should be expected to do a substantial amount of paid work.
Compliance with a Medicaid work requirement needs to be measured over a period of months as lower skilled people often work irregularly.
Compliance with a Medicaid work requirement should be determined using readily available, reliable information that can be computer processed.

NEW YORK (AP) — ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million toward Donald Trump’s presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit over anchor George Stephanopoulos’ inaccurate on-air assertion that the president-elect had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.
As part of the settlement made public Saturday, ABC News posted an editor’s note to its website expressing regret over Stephanopoulos’ statements during a March 10 segment on his “This Week” program. The network will also pay $1 million in legal fees to the law firm of Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito.
The settlement agreement describes ABC’s presidential library payment as a “charitable contribution,” with the money earmarked for a non-profit organization that is being established in connection with the yet-to-be built library.
People who voted against Trump will not vote for him in 2028. As a matter of fact, no one will vote for Trump in 2028.
