Tennessee Rep. Mark Green announced that he has resigned from Congress to take a mysterious new job — narrowing Republicans’ already ultra-slim majority by one seat ahead of messy fights such as the looming government shutdown battle in the fall.

The retired US Army officer had revealed his intention to step down last month after passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, but had refrained from giving an exact date. On Friday, he tendered his resignation, which is effective July 20, per his letter to GOP leadership.

“Shortly after his announcement last month that he intended to leave Congress, Notus reported that Green had been floating business opportunities in Guyana to lobbyists.”

Got caught having an affair, accepted a new job while still in congress and voting on bills that might impact the new employer, who was never disclosed.

A completely corrupt bag of dogshit, but then again, he’s a Tennessee Republican, so I repeat myself.

“Eventually, there will be a special election to replace Green, who had won Sen. Marsha Blackburn’s (R-Tenn.) old House seat in 2018.”

That’s 2 Republicans elected in a row......I don’t see any reason that will change.

So, is there a special election or does the governor appoint a replacement?

No governor appoints on a HR vacancy. Always special election, every state

That is, unless Tennessee starts going Kentucky on us. Memphis and Nashville are not exactly Republican strongholds, and Knoxville has UT, certainly not a good influence.

Trump entered politics to make the country a better place. Most Congressmen have other goals. 💰

Many on both sides did not want their good old boys club disturbed.

Tennessee has a strong Gov. who will expedite the special....2 to 3 months.

Was Green MAGA supportive ?....I assume squishy since he’s deserting Rs prior to some consequential votes.

What key votes are upcoming ? Budget (as opposed to a CR) in Sept . ?? What else ?

Green retires 7/20. Congress recesses most of August. This can be managed.

“”His choice in any case.....””

Yes. Just as... helping the radical left Democrats/Marxists destroy us from within is a choice.
