Just for reference, it looks like the average tariff revenues in 2024 were about $7B a month.

It’s a dent in our cash flow problem, but not a big one.

How many billions in revenue was collected in ‘any’ June when OBiden was in the WH? In case you missed it...

‘that’ is the point.

well something is not right... All I know is last year a slap a NY Strip at my meat market was 80-90 bucks... yesterday that same chunk of meat(weight) scaled in at $150...

I was less than thrilled...

Oh please. That much was obvious, but we should keep our heads about the depth of the current fiscal predicament. The big problems are structural. That Medicaid for illegals isn't being cut in the BBB is laughable.

It could have something to do with the leftist Democrats’ apparent war on cattle ranchers. And their war on America, actually. They drive up prices and costs to make more people dependent upon them. It’s all about control and power over the ‘little guy’.

This is why there is little inflation, the dollars are just not that significant in the scope of the entire economy.

This revenue is raised by a tax on American consumers. And it will fund junk programs and special interest tax breaks.

No kidding. 5 thousand was promised. Although, I’d be happy if that money went towards the debt.

Just as the debate added 3000 billion to the budget.

I hope you realize that a 10% tariff raises the price 1-2%. Baked into that price is a VAT tax (up to 17% price increase) from the producing country that you are uncomplainingly paying.

I don’t really blame you. This is the kind of information that tanks the deMS-13 narrative. You will never hear it from the media.

I would be very interested in an historical monthly chart of what we COLLECT in tariffs as a nation vs. what we PAY in tariffs, over the last 50 years.

Anyone know where that data might exist?

It’s a huge dent at 400 billion per year which is 40% of the annual deficit.

Can you do math? A billion a day almost cuts the deficit in half.
