After a deadly surprise attack, Israel attacked Iran for 12 days and seriously damaged the Iranian axis of evil • Among other things, our forces killed senior commanders and scientists of the Revolutionary Guards, destroyed military bases and nuclear sites, and seriously damaged the ballistic missile array • But alongside the successes, the price was heavy - 29 civilians were murdered by launches from Tehran • Summary of the operation.
Operation "Am Kalavi" : 13 days ago, Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran for the first time in its history. In the opening strike, which began at approximately 3:00 AM on Friday, about a week and a half ago, Israel succeeded in eliminating a number of senior commanders and nuclear scientists of the Revolutionary Guards, destroying important bases of the Ayatollah regime, and most importantly, surprising Iran.
Israel's clear goal when it launched the attack was to eliminate the nuclear threat and remove the ballistic missile threat from Iran. According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, our forces destroyed the main enrichment facility in Natanz, the uranium conversion facility in Isfahan, and the heavy water facility in Arak.
Iran was quick to respond, and within hours of the Israeli surprise attack, it began launching heavy barrages of ballistic missiles at the country. Although most of the missiles were intercepted, several direct hits across Israel caused heavy casualties, most notably 29 deaths, hundreds of injuries, and extensive property damage.
Despite the heavy losses and damage, Israel's success exceeded all expectations. For 12 days, our pilots bombed throughout Iran, with some of the attacks becoming particularly memorable due to the footage they were filmed. For example, the attack on the Iranian Broadcasting Authority, which became particularly memorable because of the live video of the attack.
Amidst this entire historic war, one of the most important moments occurred on the 10th day of the operation, when in the late hours of the night between Saturday night and Sunday, President Donald Trump announced on his personal account on the TRUTH social network that the United States military had attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran – Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
When the dust settled, it became clear that the massive attack had indeed ended successfully. Especially remember the post that Trump published, which read: "Fordow - gone ." After the attack, Israel made it clear that it was a partner in the decision-making process and that there was complete coordination between Israel and the US on the issue, both before and in real time.
As mentioned, the massive and historic operation that Israel embarked on ended last night. About 24 hours ago, Trump announced that a ceasefire had been reached between Israel and Iran : "Assuming all goes well – and it will – I want to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, for the courage, endurance and intelligence they demonstrated in ending what should be called: the '12-Day War,'" the president wrote on his social media account.
The fire continued for several more hours, during which Israel continued to attack military targets and Iran continued its trend of targeting civilian population centers with the aim of [possibilities of also] hitting the home front. In the last missile barrage fired, a direct hit was recorded on a 7-story building in the city of Beersheba, killing 4 civilians.
