GHF tells UN: ‘Silence is abandonment’ after staff killed (by Hamas/PIJ, etc.), presses for direct food deliveries.

“The time has come to confront, without euphemism or delay, the structural failure of aid delivery in Gaza,” Rev. Johnnie Moore, GHF’s executive chairman, wrote.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has urged the United Nations to “publicly condemn the targeting of humanitarian workers in Gaza” and to partner with the group on a new system for getting food “straight to Palestinian families,” according to a letter delivered to UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Tuesday. GHF, an Israeli- and US-backed NGO that began operating in May, says it has distributed nearly 40 million meals through “Secure Distribution Sites” that bypass Gaza’s traditional relief network. Moore argues that reliance on “existing infrastructure” has enabled “mass diversion, looting and the manipulation of humanitarian flows by bad actors,” a thinly veiled reference to Hamas.

The letter demands that the UN condemn attacks on aid workers and the obstruction of relief, “by Hamas and other armed factions," as well as engage ‘immediately and directly’ with GHF to scale up deliveries, not through intermediaries, but through a model that has already proven its capacity.

Bunch of whackos.

Best food aid deliovery service in the world inthe US MArin Corps.

Try to steal the food, they get shot.

The Marine Corps gets it right into the hands of the people.

The IDF should be delivering it.

Its not so much a food crisis as it is a moral crisis of the people stopping the food as well as those who have not done all they could to get out of gaza since oct 7 massacre happened in israel.

They have had lots of time and opportunities to leave and still could if they are so poorly treated. IMO better to die trying to get out, than to stay and claim to be a victim

My understanding is IDF is securing the deliveries and the distribution sites. Given the state of relations the Gazans may not want to deal directly with IDF and IDF don’t want to be unsecured targets for lunatics that may rampage, steal, or suicide bomb the sites. So the people being killed are the people delivering aid and the people receiving the aid - by Hamas and their allies, who do not want this new delivery system to succeed. Shooting at their own people in line for food is a good way to deter compliance. Hamas wants the PR of death and starvation as a means to argue against any new systems of aiding the Gazans that gets Hamas out of the corruption and leadership role.

We hear news stories of deaths, usually they blame Israeli fire but I’d gather there’s more Hamas fire that requires defense.

Israel needs to hunt every single one of these savages down and kill them and their families.

There is nowhere for them to go. Israel won’t take them obviously and Egypt won’t even set up some temporary camp sites on their side of Gaza. They could very easily secure a dozen square miles but are afraid it will become a permanent settlement/town/city. Which it probably should. Lease it from them, build a secondary birddd and give Gaza room to expand economically.

Policing them is another matter. I just mean civil police let alone military control. Egypt won’t let Israel occupy it and Egypt doesn’t want to deal with the Palestinians either.
