Blasts shake Tehran after furious Trump tells Israel to stop strikes to preserve truce deal

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE/TEL AVIV/ISTANBUL, June 24 (Reuters) - Israel bombed a target near Tehran on Tuesday despite a furious rebuke from U.S. President Donald Trump for launching airstrikes hours after agreeing to a ceasefire deal with Iran.

Trump scolded both Iran and Israel for early violations of the truce that he had announced at around 0500 GMT, but directed particularly stinging criticism at Washington's close ally over the scale of its strikes, telling it to "calm down now".

He said Israel called off further attacks at his command to preserve the deal to end a 12-day air war with Iran, the biggest ever military confrontation between the Middle East arch-foes that had raised fears of global repercussions.

Following those remarks, however, two witnesses reached by telephone in the Iranian capital said they heard two loud blasts.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office acknowledged that Israel had bombed a radar site near Tehran in what it said was retaliation for Iranian missiles fired three-and-a-half hours after the ceasefire had been due to begin.

It said Israel had decided to refrain from further attacks following a call between Netanyahu and Trump, but did not explicitly say whether the strike on the radar site took place before or after they spoke.

The Islamic Republic denied launching any missiles and said Israel's attacks had continued for an hour-and-a-half beyond the time the truce was meant to start.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said later Tehran would not violate the ceasefire unless Israel did so, and that it was prepared to return to the negotiating table, without elaborating, according to state-run Nournews.

I love President Trump but lets all get on the reality train. Iran has already announced that they will be ramping their nuclear program back up. Unless there is regime change Iran will be a regional disruptor. Hopefully the Iranian people will get out on the street and get rid of the mullahs.

Folks just are not getting it. It is designed to NEVER END. It is not Trump’s fault. The hate ingrained in Religion is perpetual and immeasurable. This will never stop until every last one of either of the two parties is wiped off the face of the earth. And this is impossible. Not true. Ishmael is taken as the ancestor of Arabs. The Iranians are Persians, not Arabs. Cyrus the Great is the only non-Jew referred to in the Bible as “messiah,” I.e., “anointed one.” Israel and Iran were great friends under the Shah. Peace is possible between them; but not with the current Iranian government

You miss the point. Iran is only one player. It is Islamic BECAUSE of Ishmael’s descendants who influenced the entire Middle East, North Africa (who are black) and Indonesia (who are Asian). If Abraham had waited on the Lord, Ishmael would not have been born. His influence and that of his descendants would not have been felt.

we will see... as you noted, the Iranian regime is NUTS and could try almost anything...as we’ve seen many times already. HOPING that the Iranian people will find it possible now to replace these Satanic basturds in Teheran with a sensible, responsible, un-Nuts (and peaceful) government. I think they just might be able to do it as the iDF has been eliminating a lot of the terror regime’s weapons and organization that suppresses the citizenry
