A report on Israel’s Army Radio on Monday suggested that the Israeli government believes the war with Iran is ending, and therefore the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) targets include institutions of the Iranian regime.
As Breitbart News reported Monday, Israel has shifted the focus of its attacks to include the Iranian regime’s instruments of suppressing opposition, not just nuclear sites and ballistic missile launchers. These include the Basij paramilitary force and the gates of the notorious Evin Prison.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel’s goal is not regime change — though he has also urged the Iranian people to rise up. President Donald Trump also suggested Sunday that “regime change” might not be a bad idea after all — but the White House backed away from the idea on Monday, reiterating that it is not a goal of the war.
An analyst on Army Radio said Israel is likely working to destabilize the Iranian regime in the belief that the war is winding down, so that when Israel’s attacks stop, the Iranian opposition has a chance to rise up.

Hopefully the regime cant retake contr, because that will be tens of thousands dead.
Persians are welcome to rise against their weakened oppressors.
It’s their business to take care of.
Supplying Uzis to the Iranian opposition wouldn’t hurt.
“so that when Israel’s attacks stop, the Iranian opposition has a chance to rise up.”
Here’s hoping but has that ever happened successfully?
Global oil prices have risen slightly but no panic price surges.
Irans threat against the Strait of Hormuz seems to have little effect.
How about in 1979 when France landed one elderly, loud mouthed, ayatoilet and the resistance to the Shah and His feared powerful security service rose up and took over. Hard to compare from a distance of 46 years years and an Iowa vantage point but today's opposition may well be as large as the anti-Shah one was back then. And noone bombed the heck out of the Shah to start that going. Opposition back then clearly was organized. Competence of those organizing the current opposition remains to be seen, but the Iranian diaspora is not poor and the Crown Prince hasn't so far acted like an idiot.
...Don’t forget Saint GBU-57
Iranian opposition are mostly homos in Paris.
M16A4 carbines would probably be a better choice, lighter with better range and a better round.
“so that when Israel’s attacks stop, the Iranian opposition has a chance to rise up.”
Not happening. The Iranian people have mostly rallied behind the existing government even if they weren’t fans of it to begin with. Installing some pro-Western puppet isn’t going to work.
That may prove challenging, with Israel watching every move on satellite and controlling the skies over Iran.
I was speaking figuratively along the lines of the WWII Liberator. One would use the weapon to take out IRGC thugs and use their weapons and ammo against them.
If there is no regime change, all this will do is p*ss them off & slow their nuclear ambitions down for a few years, ie., a wasted effort.
a few years, ie., a wasted effort.
\
how is a nuke lobbed years from now NOT better than one thrown in minths if not weeks or days ?
wasted effort ?
you , are a moron.
I SURE LIKED THE “PAGER CAPER”
One wonders in these days of smart phones, why anyone would bother with systematically distributing pagers.
Has it occurred to you that Iran has a bunch of radioactive material, the missiles to load it on, & now the greenlight to launch them towards our military & communities. Or that other countries are considering giving Iran functional nuclear warheads right now.
One blast over NYC or Tel Aviv will render these places uninhabitable for a very long time - millions of years. They don’t even need a missile, they could take some smuggled in uranium, rent a small plane, & spread it all over ANY area of the USA. As the situation stands today, this could happen at any time - today, tomorrow, next week.
You don’t negotiate with a rabid dog, you don’t shoot to wound, you kill it dead as quickly as possible.
On the other hand, if the mullahs were dead & the IRGC decimated, there is a very real chance that a peaceful Iran would emerge. The Iranian people certainly want that.
Can you imagine anything beyond tomorrow?
What do think the old, crazy mullahs are thinking right now? If you think they are done with terrorism, willing to be peaceful, & willing to leave the US & Israel alone, you don’t know much about islam. These people thrive on revenge & they are more than willing to die for 72 virgins.
It's happened in Iran, twice.
First in 1953 when the CIA smuggled in a plane load of weapons and coordinated demonstrations that toppled Prime Minister Mossadegh.
Then in 1979 when the Ayatolla left France and arrived in Iran which set off a wave of events that toppled the Shah.
