Sen. Rand Paul's call to cut the Trump administration's request on border security spending for the president's "big, beautiful bill" has left him on the sidelines for negotiations on the megabill,

Instead, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who chairs the chamber's Budget Committee, said this week he's the lead negotiator in the talks on the border part of the budget,

"Senator Paul usually votes 'no' and blames everybody else for not being pure enough," said Graham in the interview. "As chairman, you … don't have that luxury sometimes. You have to do things as chairman [that] you wouldn't have to do as a rank-and-file member.

Well, this explains the muddled interview rand had on fox Tuesday...

rand paul's big mouth and grandstanding is being put in the corner and given a time out for screaming "No, Give me what I want" and opposing Trump's budget, without having any solutions

rand was doing a cya, to try to save face and pretend he's still got influence on passage of the budget bill

Rand McCain is in great need of either a clue, or a MAGA primary opponent.

He thinks he is President. He demands the WH directly “negotiates” with him.

What an ego.

Heard him on Clay and Buck. An arrogant moron.

Rand never accomplishes anything. He just complains about everything that other people do. I reminds me of a small yappy dog. A lot of noise but never a threat.

Rational Adult Freepers don’t mindless worship a blowhard politicians simply because he says nice sounding words while doing nothing at all.

“Libertarian/Conservatives” are becoming as big a group of cult of personality bots worshiping their political idols” words over actions as the Democrat party base has been for decades

Posturing as a purist all the time means Paul is actively working to maintain the status quo in DC.

Actually GET something done you pathetic clowns in the US Senate. The US House has passed a whole bunch of bills. The US Senate has done nothing.

The US voters did not give the GOP a majority to play these stupid grandstanding photo ops games

Trump has gotten far more results in 5 years in office than Rand Paul has in 14 years.

So personally, I think RP should have gotten on the wagon before it ran him over.

I certainly prefer lindsey, who I don’t really trust, to negotiate a deal on things in the budget because he says he’s going to do some negotiations....

rather than rand paul, who acts like he’s in charge and will force Trump to bow down before rand, and tells everyone to do what he wants with the budget...

or rand will vote no, and kill the budget bill, without caring that it also kill the republican’s chances of holding the house and senate in the midterms...

They are voting on spending for Trumps priorities which are MAGE priorities by and large. If Dems were in charge and this were a bill of Dem priorities they wouldn’t argue about it. They would pass it.

If they want to fight spending wait until the leftists have some input and cut out money from what THEY want to spend it on.

"Report: Rand Paul Pushed Aside on Megabill Talks"

Well, that frees him for more TV appearances so he can continue to tear the Bill down, and attack President Trump's other policies.

Yeah, like all the investigations he promised he was going to conduct to get to the bottom of things.
