Russian hardliners are pushing President Vladimir Putin to formally declare war on Ukraine, saying his "special military operation" against the neighboring country is not enough, particularly after Ukraine's surprise attack on Moscow's air bases.
"Like every thinking patriot, I took it as a personal tragedy," one Russian official commented about the Ukrainians' "Operation Spider Web" attacks, with another high-ranking official describing the mood in the Kremlin as "shock and outrage," reports The Telegraph on Wednesday.
The conflict, now in its fourth year after Russia invaded Ukraine, has never been officially declared as a war, despite the loss of property and countless lives.
Russia's nationalist elite are saying that Putin should not only declare war but recruit a million more soldiers and conduct daily missile strikes on Kyiv until President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government is destroyed.
Kremlin insiders, speaking to The Telegraph on the condition of anonymity about whether the Ukrainian attack could push Russia to further escalate the war, commented that they fear what will happen if tougher action is not taken.

It actually discusses Russian attitudes in Russia.
Time not to. Trump already at the G7 blamed Ukraine on Macron et al. and excoriated them for kicking Putin out of the G8 to set the whole ball of wax moving. Europe and Ukraine deserve each other and it’s time for us to move away from the Deep State global democratic/RINO/Warwhore grift and deal with the real problems we have. Putin should take his geostrategic win, be quiet about it and not upset our losers even more by poking a stick at them.
Oh, now I know whats always been missing from this war.
This special military operation cost Russia dearly.
No only they lost like million people and lots of military and civilian properties and equipment, not including the economy troubles from the sanction, but they also lots several other wars.
They lost the Nagorno Karabagh and they were kicked out of Syria, and several African countries, because all their forces are tied up in Ukraine. .
Moreover, they are sort of loosing Siberia to China. I just heard that all economy there is controlled by the Chinese and Chinese are moving over there in large numbers. Russian far east is historically claimed by the Chinese and they are performing peaceful invasion of that area. It is just a matter of time when they will annex all that huge area!
But Putin cannot do anything about it, since it would cost him his last ally.
So, how is an undeclared war becoming declared going to make a difference? Will Putin attack more? Will Putin kill more civilians? Will Putin make Zelensky a target, more than he already is? Will Putin attempt to take more territory? Will Putin not make his troops bigger targets?
Oh, I get it now. Putin will finally deploy the nuclear bomb he’s always threatened to use.
Those pesky Ukrainians will be sorry now, for daring to fight back.
Most of the remaining Russian hardliners don’t have any military knowledge or experience. Prigozhin is dead, and Strelkov is in prison. These armchair generals in the Kremlin don’t know what they are talking about.
Apparently, (according to poor and difficult to decipher Western Media articles), that has been Putin's policy for the entire period of the war.
The Hardliners appear to want to change that.
You should contact Putin with your concerns, he can use those arguments to convince the Hardliners, you could present them well, there.
There will be more attacks on Ukraine, they will be more often, more lethal weapons will be used, more Ukrainians will be killed, more Ukrainians will be wounded, Zelensky will become a permitted target, more Russian soldiers will be deployed against Ukraine, and more territory will be taken.
Currently all Russians are targets of Ukraine so the number of Russian targets will not change.
You can help Ukraine, they'll take anyone at the Front.
Otherwise, you're right: "Those pesky Ukrainians will be sorry now..."
I suspect you are right.
By the way. It’s interesting that the Uke attack on strategic bases and the Israeli sneak attack on Iran were both preceded by intel units with prepositioned drones, preprogrammed with targets.
And they were a few weeks apart. Wonder if the Israelis were involved in the Ukraine thing?
Yeah that’s like observing a couple living apart for 3 years, having separate bank accounts, filing separate taxes and dating others and then telling them to just call it a divorce.
Regardless, I don't have access to the info to answer that question, and I can't read minds.
My gut tells me of course they were and know putin knows the mossad is so far up his colon they know more about the Russian capabilities then he does. And in about two seeks time nato will be on another border looking up his tail pipeline
Yeah, that's the ticket!
After all, Putin still has two-thirds of his strategic bombers intact!
Little anecdote: Shortly after WWII, a Soviet general was asked what the deciding factors were for the victory of the USSR. He replied: "American military shipments (lend-lease) and Ukrainian soldiers!"

US Intelligence confirms that Uke Nazis, using a female Terrorist operative, under cover of a grade school child, assassinated civilian noncombatant Daria Dugina with a carbomb that injured other civilians, near Moscow:
U.S. Believes Ukrainians Were Behind an Assassination of Daria Dugina in Russia
I note your Lies, Enthusiasm and Endorsement of these actions, ... as usual.
“ Zelensky will become a permitted target..”
So will Putin.

“Or they got the idea from the same source.”
I doubt Israelis have much to learn from Ukrainians. And the time between the attacks was way too short. I suspect the two are related.
They also relate geopolitically. Russia gets a lot of drones from Iran. Taking out Iran would hurt Russia’s ability to bomb Ukraine with drones.
This whole attack on Iran seems to have a common “Langley” globalist feel about it.
Yeah... I think NATO is planning to do exactly as you say.
