Starmer calls emergency meeting as UK braces for possible US strike on Iran

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will meet with cabinet ministers for an emergency discussion amid mounting anticipation over whether the United States will decide to strike Iran, The Guardian reports.

Starmer will convene the United Kingdom’s national emergencies committee, known as COBRA, to “bring together ministers and senior officials to update the UK’s response to the rapidly escalating conflict in the Middle East,” says the report.

British deputy prime minister, Angela Rayner, who stood in for Starmer at prime minister’s questions while the latter was away at a G7 summit in Canada, tells British MPs that “we agree with President Trump that Iran must never have a nuclear weapon, but we’ve been consistent in urging Iran to engage in the diplomatic process and work with the United States, and we continue to support that diplomatic approach,” the report reads.

Britain has dropped so far that nobody even cares what they think anymore.

My dog held a meeting with the rabbits in the yard today—about as relevant to the discussion.

Lol.

We tried. Numerous times. The Ayatollah must love the FO portion of the tour. What a shame.

It’s the “new” demographics of the UK that makes an allied Israeli/US strike on the Islamist nuclear facilities in Iran a serious issue.

The usual suspects are ginning up the rhetoric. Check his stock portfolio for Raytheon.

Write the White House: no strikes! America first, not Israel first!

That’s cute. Starmer thinks what the UK says and does still matters on the world stage. It’s not 1885 anymore, pal.

I was going to say no disrespect meant to the British people. But unfortunately, they have picked bad leaders for many decades now.

By tried I assume you mean went in and dictated terms you knew would be unacceptable then went to war when the terms are denied.

I was not privy to the negotiations. It was reported that deals were offered. If you have the insider details of what was discussed please let us know.

I’d wager most of the discussion was on how to suppress the Muzzie riots in London if Pres. Trump strikes Iran.

Saying Iran can never have nukes is not negotiating, it’s dictating terms which is what Trump did when he tore up the previous agreement.

Keep this in mind, Israel has never declared their nukes and thus they’ve been side stepping the monitoring everyone else gets.

Today’s UK will not suppress anything the Muslims do. I get your point. But perhaps it’s better said that Starmer will discuss how to appease the Muslims should rioting break out.

Side story:
There’s a YouTube video of a noisy Muslim protest march on a London street. A Jewish guy (wearing a yarmulka) happened to standing on the sidewalk.

He was approached by some British cops. To protect him? No. The cops told the Jewish guy to leave the area because his presence might upset the Muslim marchers.

☹️

Ok. Say for the sake of discussion we both agree that Israel has a nuclear deterrent. Do you ever recall Israel saying they were going to use them offensively to eradicate any of the neighhors? If the answer is no, my follow up question would be, can the same be said of the Islamic theocracy of Iran?

They are trying the trying the River to the sea doctrine using proxies and conventional bombs. Can you say straight faced that Iran wouldn't hasten the return of the Mahdi using WMD?

As far as monitoring Israel nukes, i do find it odd that they aren’t. But i do not think Israel ever signed the NPT.

Well, when “every knows” you have nukes that makes the countries your sending drones, planes, and missiles into is less likely to seriously fight back if the “know” you can nuke them.

How I see it is Iran was no where near a bomb and Israel wanted to be a mini-super power in the middle east which could only happen if no other countries had nukes. Remember also Russia is withdrawing from non-proliferation treaties which in practical terms means Russia is free to sell nukes and delivery systems to any and every American hating country, and there are a lot of them. Image the Cartels with nukes, and you’re worried about Iran.

Every dirty little trick the west pulls becomes fair game for an enemy to do.

The UK’s Deep State should be worried about losing control of the rent-a-mob it imported...
