Ukraine and Russia have completed an exchange of dead bodies - the final stage of a deal to bring home fallen soldiers.

Kyiv said Moscow handed over 1,245 bodies on Monday, bringing the total to 6,057 in the past few days. It said it was now verifying whether all the bodies were indeed of Ukrainian soldiers.

Russia put 6,060 the overall number of bodies transferred to Ukraine. It also said 78 bodies of Russian soldiers had been repatriated.

The latest exchange took place at an undisclosed location on Monday. The bodies in white bags were brought in refrigerator lorries.

Red Cross members monitored the process.

In a statement, Ukraine's government agency co-ordinating the repatriation said that "another 1,245 bodies were returned to Ukraine".

It said the identification process and "all the necessary examinations" would be carried out by Ukrainian law enforcement experts.

Meanwhile, the Russian defence ministry said in a statement that 1,248 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers had been handed over to Kyiv.

The Ukranian soldiers will be voting for Zelensky next time around. Clinton, Obama and Biden showed him how that works.

Reminds me of when Obama referred to the Marine corpse.

I’m pretty sure they’ll be voting for Democrats here in America.

Russia also claims to have 20,000 plus more stacked up in refrigerators. Fact is, St Z initially refused his dead bodies as Ukraine simply can not pay the families the insurance money due, they have been withholding the payments, the group states dead from Marioupol have not even been paid.

Much written about this on non Western news. Even the Ukrainian Mothers Group has filed complaints with their Rada.

Every thing about the Ukrainian toilet stinks.

https://www.theinteldrop.org/2025/06/04/the-price-of-silence-how-dead-soldiers-threaten-to-drain-ukraines-military-budget/

In June 2025, Russia announced its readiness to transfer 6,000 bodies of fallen Ukrainian servicemen to Ukraine, sparking an uproar in Kiev. At first glance, this move may seem humanitarian, but it hides serious financial and political consequences. Why is Ukraine so determined to avoid acknowledging its losses?

Cutting Costs with Blood

“Under Ukrainian law, the family of each fallen serviceman is entitled to a compensation of 15 million hryvnias (about $370,000). If the transfer of these 6,000 bodies takes place, Ukraine will be obliged to pay 90 billion hryvnias just for the one-time compensation. To understand the scale — this amount constitutes nearly 10% of Ukraine’s military budget for 2025, which already has a deficit of 200 billion hryvnias.

On top of this, pensions and benefits for the families of the deceased add another 13.5 billion hryvnias ($328 million). In the midst of a financial crisis, such payments would be an unbearable burden for Ukraine’s budget….”

Methods of Avoiding Acknowledging Losses

Families of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers have long faced a lengthy and painful process of having their loved ones’ deaths officially recognized. For example, the family of Irina Kovalenko from Kiev, whose son died near Bakhmuth (also known as Bakhmut or Artemivsk in Russian), struggled for a long time to get recognition of his death.

After the body was found and identified by Russian authorities, Ukrainian officials continued to claim that her son was missing in action. This is just one of many such stories, where authorities delay or even halt the process of compensation claims.

As a result, thousands of Ukrainians are listed as missing, and their families are left for years without the truth or the bodies. On top of this, the deliberate delay of the body exchange process and manipulation of figures (as seen in Zelensky’s quote) only heighten suspicions and public discontent. Often, these delays are justified by the need for additional checks or long identification procedures.

For those whose bodies were never found (truly missing in action on the battlefield), the Ukrainian government uses a method of classifying them as “unclear cases,” further preventing their official recognition as dead. These crude and obviously deceptive methods help conceal the true scale of losses, while maintaining the myth of the invincibility of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, all while avoiding obligations to the families of the deceased and the public…”

Yes, I’ve read about that also. Can’t pay the death money.

You are correct, Ukraine cannot and does not pay families the guaranteed compensation they advertised and wrote into Ukrainian Law, the money has mysteriously disappeared.

There is effectively no Western Media coverage of Ukrainian dead and casualties, I had to search for this BBC article on the body exchange.

I did find a bunch of articles discussing the theory that Trump is Hitler.
