The business community, from El Monte to Downey to Perris, no longer fears the impact of federal immigration raids on workplaces. They are seeing the painful fallout firsthand.
In the weeks after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents ramped up their roundups of migrant workers from car washes, swap meets and hubs such as L.A.’s Flower District, business owners and city leaders say the operations are disrupting life and spreading fear in their communities.
...
Todd Lyons, the head of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, defended his tactics last week week against criticism that authorities are being too heavy-handed. He has said ICE is averaging about 1,600 arrests per day and that the agency has arrested “dangerous criminals.”

With the usual conflation of illegal aliens with legal visa holders and immigrants.
Also, the usual bias of not indicating the political party of illegal alien supporters.
Yay! Funny how these “journalists” try to make vinegar out of honey
How empty can some businesses be?
In 2019 we had 10 or 15 million less illegals and businesses weren't empty, they were thriving.
Oh no. Oh well
I don’t want those in our nation illegally to ever feel safe and comfortable. I want them to be nervous. I want them to go home where they can feel safe.
“...city leaders say the operations are disrupting life and spreading fear in their communities”
Criminals SHOULD fear, especially illegal alien scumbag parasite democrat voters who think they can just barge into the USA without any repercussions. These cockroaches need to suffer greatly, along with their rat enablers.
Get them OUT, all of them OUT!
——spreading fear——
What is happening is that some illegals are coming to the realization that they are in jeopardy by being in America. They are realizing that the false sanctuary is non existent.
The best sourse is to get the hell out of Dodge
Yep...they write this as if it’s a BAD thing.
Having said that.....ICE needs to come to my Walmart....and not just to vet the customers either.
I do like your tag line!
“ICE needs to come to my Walmart”
I think Walmart hires TPS people and refugees.
George Floyd riots destroyed business i.e. emptied business of everything and everybody. No tears from them from the MSM.
Obviously businesses expanded or opened to serve them. (Think of those loaded cards Biden and the NGOs gave them monthly!)
But if the deportations we need really ever take place, there will be significant disruption and change very much for the ultimate good of the country.
A quote for the parts of the business community that support illegals...
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
Samuel Adams
Give businesses 30 days notice to clean up their employees and then go after the owners who still hire illegals.
They live here and are enjoying our freedoms and benifits they need have respect for our country and speak our freakin’ language
Too bad.
Going back to 2019 levels of illegals and business should not be disruptive, overall.
Do the math. Add legal population growth and associated business growth, of course.
If we can thrive in 2019 without illegals, we can do the same in 2025 to 2028 without them. Obviously. Believing otherwise is believing the open borders propaganda.
EMPLOYERS HAVE KNOWN SINCE INCEPTION THAT THEY CANNOT HIRE ILLEGALS.
IT IS CLEAR IN ALL THE MATERIALS GIVEN OUT WHEN THEY GET A TUN & START TO REPORT & PAY DEDUCTED TAXES/FICA, ETC.
ANY NOTICES ARE REDUNDANT
NONE OF THIS IS NEW INFORMATION
Exactly, they should be in fear 24/7 till they leave.
We should go back to 2000 levels of illegals, assuming that that’s about the best we could do.
