Thanks for tonight’s Road Trip, Lauren!
I was on an exercise to Barking Sands after Hurricane Iniki passed through in the 90s. Only place to sleep was the motor pool in a garage with no roof. A cot, sleeping bag and mosquito nets. It was utterly fantastic at night listening to the roaring surf a few hundred yards away, and seeing a blanket of stars above you. Best two weeks of my assignment in Hawaii.
Good evening PROCON!
Great story, thank you USAF1985!
Howdy spel, and thank you!

Hope everything’s going well. All settled back in after you nice, long vacation?
You are welcome, sweet lauren! ;-)
Geez! I hope that the other divas in the Canteen do not get jealous! LOL
Howdy, PRO.
How are things out your way? Getting some breaks in the heat so you don’t mind heading out the door?
I’ve been there!
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Thanks, Lauren!
It's been hot here but nothing to slow me down, still cool A/C in my car and home thankfully.
Just a bunch of erands this week and a few Doctor's appts.
I hope all is well your way!
Good. Sounds like it hasn’t been oppressive .... as long as the AC keeps working! LOL
Kinda the same here but only because we’ve had a lot of clouds and rain to hold the temps down. It’ll be oppressive in a couple of days though. Summer’s getting set to kick butt.
Good to see you this evening, lauren! Hope you didn’t have to hit the ground running when you got back to work.
Hey there, radu!
Did you get a good rain this afternoon? I sure wish we would. Instead, our temp is still 90 degrees with 35%humidity, which is high for us.
Howdy, luvie.
It poured HARD not long after I came inside this evening. Now it’s sprinkling and it looks like that will go on for a while. I think I’ll go to the other house to move the big potted plants out of the carport. Their leaves need a good shower to wash the dust off.
My skin shrivels at the thought of your 35% humidity. LOL That’s dry to us. We’re looking at 65% to 80% here the next week ...... when it isn’t raining. That’s with temps in the upper 80s to mid 90s. Not ready for this.
Your plants will thank you for the bath! LOL!
I just went out for a bit. It’s pretty warm, but there is a nice breeze that feels pretty good. Dottie was out there chasing bugs. LOL!
She had a juvenile Katydid last night, though I didn’t know what it was at the time. Hubby had to tell me. I wish it had lived. I don’t think I’ve heard one in decades. She just ruined my only chance. There ARE no crickets. When it’s quiet here, it’s VERY quiet.
