Trump Organization announces mobile plan, $499 smartphone: Trump Mobile, will offer a $47.45-per-month plan that includes unlimited talk, text and data

The Trump Organization on Monday unveiled a mobile phone plan and a $499 smartphone that is set to launch in September.

The new service, Trump Mobile, will offer a $47.45-per-month plan that includes unlimited talk, text and data, as well as roadside assistance and a “Telehealth and Pharmacy Benefit,” according to its website.

The company, owned by President Donald Trump, also announced it will sell a “T1” smartphone, which appears to feature a gold-colored metal case etched with an American flag.

The new venture is the latest example of Trump’s business empire capitalizing on its association with the sitting president.

Both the name of the wireless service — “The 47 Plan” — and its monthly price are references to Trump, who was the 45th U.S. president during his first term in office and is now serving as the 47th.

A screenshot on the website of the upcoming phone, meanwhile, displays Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

Like a suite of other products that Trump and his businesses have rolled out during his political career — including watches, sneakers and Bibles — the company’s new foray into telecommunications mainly comprises a licensing agreement.

“Trump Mobile, its products and services are not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold by The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals,” the bottom of the website reads.

Critics have raised ethics concerns about the flurry of licensing deals and other branded-merchandise agreements surrounding Trump. But the president and his family continue to pursue lucrative opportunities to expand their portfolio with relatively little downside, financially or politically.

On Friday, the president reported that he had made more than $8 million in 2024 from various licensing agreements.

The 47 Plan appears to be more expensive than similar plans from established carriers. For instance, Visible, Verizon’s budget-friendly offering, sells an unlimited talk, text, data and hotspot plan for $25 per month, while Mint Mobile’s 12-month unlimited plan costs $30 monthly.

It’s a vanity product, leveraging the power of the Trump brand with no downside.

For those who are offended by such things there’s a simple solution: don’t buy it. If the world agrees with you, it will disappear from the market. If not...

Looking forward to Nanzi Pelosi and Chuck E. Schumer reporting the sources of their lucrative incomes .

HA! Sometimes I say the craziest things.

There are many companies offering unlimited ... at a much lower monthly cost. Why anyone is buying the more expensive plans is beyond me.

Obama phone. Limit it to phone calls only-flip tops. No internet. 2 texts daily. The rest of us should only pay for the help they need to help get them a job + emergencies. It’s the same as my call for confining EBT card purchases to rice and beans.

I’m pretty sure the President has turned over control of his companies to other family members, but the left never lets the facts get in the way of a good story.

I get 500 minutes a month at a cost of $11/ month - TracFone from Walmart. It’s a simple flip phone, had it for years. Oh, and I’m not a chatty Kathy so I have around 45,000 minutes on it that keeps rolling over every three months. It does those three things like of course voice, texting, and internet although dancing around the keys to text and stuff it all works.

I have Visible and a $200 Samsung smartphone. So far, everyone I spoke with in customer service has spoken native English.

Used to use tracphone but they have fraud and theft problems (3rd world employee using my credit card to buy minutes on phones for others, no doubt for cash) that they refused to acknowledge and told me to just report the unauthorized transactions to my credit card company and then they had the nerve to dispute the payment reversals. Took months to get the money back and it was about $650 total in bogus charges.

Customer support services all very heavily accented, Pakistan or India.
