President Trump appointed her to clinch a conservative legal revolution. But soon after arriving at the Supreme Court, she began surprising her colleagues.

Barret was a FR darling when chosen. IMO she has several red flags. Adopts two children from Haiti..virtue signaling...wants demanding job with high visibility while raising 7 children (ages: 17-6 years when appointed) how are those responsibilities compatible? Belongs to Christian People of Praise, an ecumenical covenant community. People of Praise utilizes a system of spiritual direction where individuals are assigned an advisor of the same gender. These advisors, called "heads" (formerly "handmaids" for women), provide counsel on spiritual and practical matters. Accountability and Guidance: Members pledge accountability to these spiritual advisors. This involves seeking their advice for significant decisions like buying a car or getting married. It seems obvious that being raised in a group that requires others to pass judgement on every important decision would not produce a strong independent mind. IMO this was a deal breaker for Barrett.
There have been legal actions about the cohesion exerted by these advisors. Barret lived in the household of people named in the suit while she attended law school.
The founder of the People of Praise, a secretive charismatic Christian group that counts the supreme court justice Amy Coney Barrett as a member, was described in a sworn affidavit filed in the 1990s as exerting almost total control over one of the group’s female members, including making all decisions about her finances and dating relationships. The court documents also described alleged instances of a sexualized atmosphere in the home of the founder, Kevin Ranaghan, and his wife, Dorothy Ranaghan.
The description of the Ranaghans and accusations involving their intimate behavior were contained in a 1993 proceeding in which a woman, Cynthia Carnick, said that she did not want her five minor children to have visitations with their father, John Roger Carnick, who was then a member of the People of Praise, in the Ranaghan household or in their presence, because she believed it was not in her children’s “best interest”. Cynthia Carnick also described inappropriate incidents involving the couple and the Ranaghan children. The matter was eventually settled between the parties.
Barrett lived with Dorothy and Kevin Ranaghan in their nine-bedroom South Bend, Indiana, home while she attended law school, according to public records. The justice – who was then known as Amy Coney – graduated from Notre Dame Law School in 1997 and two years later married her husband, Jesse Barrett, who also appears to have lived in the Ranaghan household. There is no indication that Amy Coney Barrett lived in the house at the time when the Carnick children were visiting or witnessed any of the alleged behavior described in the court documents.

Yeah, the left is upset because they only have 2/3rds of her!
By trashing the constitution in a mere half of her decisions. Maverick independent status assured!
She’s another treasonous judge hanging on the lesbo wing of SCOTUS.
Like the infamous Souter, she lied to get on the Court. Yet another example of a flawed vetting process for critical government positions of power.
So many examples from which to choose…
When the dems did not protest too much about conehead, the die was cast. First glaring problem, three named person. Now we’re stuck for many years. Notice the dems never waiver, either a straight lefty or nothing gets the nod. I shudder every time I think that POS former AG could have been put on the bench.
Well, she was nominated by President Trump so......🤷
NYTs article courting Barret and trying to split her from the originalist majority.
Her actual decisions are quite good. Most people are upset about her administrative decision, such as what case to hear at what time.
don’t care, if she’s liar, No one saw it coming, you can’t blame this on president trump, even if the previous administration have a lot of deep state and liars, what are you going to do?
they lied, and at the time of hiring, we accepted it as truth... oh well listen learned... probably, hope there are no more liars.
It’s interesting how Amy Coney Barrett is too liberal for people, here on Free Republic, and perceived as too conservative by the rest of the world. Just an observation.
President Trump may have followed bad advice on this pick. I never understood why he was willing to be limited to picking a woman to replace Ginsberg.
Words can be sincere or merely means to an end.
We must guide against seeing/hearing what we want to see/hear and not kicking the tires. IMO this was not done in the case of Amy Coney Barrett.
Why are there no Southern Baptists on SCOTUS?
Right, Barrett fooled us all. She turned out to be the crying female on a Sunday morning “Send Your Dollars To Jesus” show.
Well, it’s 4D chess….or something.
Well, here is what the real truth is about Amy Coney Barrett:

Don’t get your comment. Some people do have NY Times subscription. I don’t. I’d never go to the Times for facts or to form an opinion but it is sometimes interesting to hear what they have to say. There has been lots of buzz abot ACB lately and to my knowledge a deepr dive on her religious community has not been posted on FR.
The info I posted in my comment came from
https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/religion-and-philosophy/people-praise
and

sadly women conservatives cant be trusted it seems. But on the other hand black conservatives have been been through trial by fire on a daily basis their whole lives and will never bend to liberals.
