Political assassinations are still a violation of international law, do you really want them back on the table? Might not work out too well for the gander.

I think we're beyond that. We tried to assassinate Hitler. Things are much more dire now.

International law?
Hahahaha

Just reporting what is being said.

Israel has already killed the political leadership of Hamas and Hizbullah, and senior Military leadership of Iran, and perhaps the Houthis (on 14 June, awaiting confirmation on their Chief of Staff).

So it is a very credible possibility, and legal during open hostilities (which these are), not requiring a declaration of war.

If he was in the Israeli version of the Pentagon, the Kirya, it got hit recently.

“The attack involved a barrage of missiles and drones, with at least one missile reportedly hitting near the Marganit Tower, a major communications hub within the Kirya compound.”

Otherwise we’d better not tell it here in case the enemy is monitoring chats and forums.

They said again the Iranians are using the TV footage to determine which paths of ICBMS are most accurate and how many are intercepted and where by watching those videos on the news shows.

In fact Netanyahu left Israel for a period of those exchanges.

#5: "We tried to assassinate Hitler."

Dozens of people tried to assassinate Hitler. Reading the history of assassination
attempts on Hitler can only lead one to believe Satan is alive and protects his own.

The leader of an enemy nation is always in the cross hairs. Union tried to kill Jeff Davis, CSA plotted to kidnap Lincoln. Hitler tried to get FDR—old idea.

Iraq is refusing its Air Space to Israeli fighters. So how is Israel getting to Iran?

“Iraq is refusing its Air Space to Israeli fighters. So how is Israel getting to Iran”

I would expect through Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan... and Iraq.

Most of the neighbors hate the Iranian regime.

What, the cheapskate didn’t spring for the remote start option? Or has he grown wary of handheld electronics?

"International Law" means absolutely nothing.

Assassinations have always been on the table. That is why major political leaders have security details.

We have enjoyed a long period of tacit understandings between national leaders that they won't attempt to kill each other to settle their conflicts. That only works when everybody wants to limit collateral damages from a conflict. It has been mostly a European perspective and has not been applied much in the Middle East or Asia.

The Iranian leaders have consistently and explicitly rejected such limitations over a period of many years. They call for the extermination of Israel and all of its' people on a regular basis even now.

That is what puts assassinations back on the table as a "negotiating tool". It is a two-way street, of course. If the Iranian covert action groups can reach Israeli leaders, they will kill them. It is not a bad thing for national leaders to be at personal risk if they bring their countries into war, and that applies to all sides in such activities.

We should consider such risks in all of our activities as well. It is all too easy to cheer for a war if we believe we will avoid any personal suffering from it. War is not so easily controlled.

Until early ‘44 when we decided Hitler was doing such a p*ss poor job of running the war that it was better to leave him alive. Better him than somebody who might’ve actually known what they were doing.

US Intelligence has uncovered several attempts by this Iranian regime to assassinate current and former US officials, including President Trump.
