GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police arrested 10 people in connection with a massive porch piracy operation that led to more than $6 million in stolen merchandise over seven months.
What started as routine porch piracy quickly revealed a sophisticated alleged “syndicate” that shipped stolen electronics around the world.
“Little did we know at that time that it was actually a part of a larger operation, culminating in millions of dollars,” Cpl. Juan Madiedo told Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson.
The investigation began in November 2024 when officers say they caught two men stealing packages in the act. On May 29, police raids hit six homes across Gwinnett County, Doraville and Johns Creek at the same time.
Officers recovered more than 5,000 electronic devices including cell phones, tablets, laptops and gaming consoles.
Police also seized $1.2 million in cash and five guns during the operation.

It beats work
until you get caught.
You’d think thieves wouldn’t be doing this much. With all the doorbell cameras, Flock cameras, Ubiquiti/Reolink/Hikvision/Lorex and the like cameras out there, it seems like getting caught would be a near certainty. Especially over time.
Now someone create a parody list of names, stat! I need a good laugh this morning!

Multi ethnic crime ring. Isn’t diversity great?
I’m old enough to remember when Gwinnett county used to be a decent place to live (and Cobb county used to be conservative).

They were all admitted to Harvard.
Kong is listed first, he must be the ruler of the operation. So show some respect for King Kong. Adonis was probably popular with the women. Tang was in charge of the morning beverages. And if someone makes joke about the names, well Fu.

LOL!
“Immigrants” commit crimes at a lower rate than American citizens you know. (Or so the media tells me).
I have a small table to the right of the front door for deliveries.
When I’m expecting something I put a box on the table. From the street you can’t tell if the box is empty or full - that solves the problem.
Gwinnett County has a population of 1 million and covers a lot of cities. Doraville is in DeKalb County and Johns Creek is in Fulton County.
Biden’s cousins.
LOL! You win! 🤣🤣🤣
I’m in an exurban gated community now, and fundamentally it is Mayberry, so I really don’t worry about it much. That said, I like playing with tech, so I have a nice NVR (network video recorder) and camera system. And I bought a small deck box (40 gallon) that mostly hides behind a large masonry post base on my front porch. It says “Deliveries go in here” on top, and I have a HomeKit-compatible motion sensor inside. So whenever someone opens it, I get an alert on my phone. So deliveries are hidden, and they don’t stay in the box long if I’m home.
< golf clap>
Well-played.
Don’t blame the thieves. Blame Trump and the economy. Groceries are too expensive for minimum wage jobs. Have you seen the price of dog meat lately? /sarc
iPhones
If you can afford to work and have expensive stuff delivered and left on the porch then you deserve to have your excess wealth stolen and given to people who are only charged a little bit for your stolen property because they really need it.
Wee Tu Lo
Ding Bang Ow
Sum Ting Wong was also arrested
