In the midst of the riots that have raged across Los Angeles in response to the Trump administration’s raid to apprehend criminals, Mexican flags have emerged as a prominent emblem of the rioters’ lawless defiance.
While the New York Times gushed that the rioters’ usage of the flag represented “pride in their heritage,” most Americans saw it for what it was: a symbol of conquest. But many leftists are now making that very argument, that it represents a reclamation by Mexico of land supposedly “stolen” by the United States

If any country has a claim to it other than the US, its Spain.
When you smoke a lot of weed and drink gallons of Tequila. You have a lot of weird ideas. Especially if you’ve only got a single digit I.Q. to begin with.
Let Mexico try to break the treaty of Guadalupe.
The Apache, Comanche, Navajo, Hopi, Pima and other tribes might have something to say about this too.
> a reclamation by Mexico of land supposedly “stolen” by the United States <
And Mexico stole it from the Apaches and the Comanches.
Who stole it from…
Etc.
All land belonging to someone today once belonged to someone else.
(I wish I could take credit for that last line. But I first read it here on Free Republic.)
JUST WHAT THE CARTELS NEED-—MORE TERRITORY
Or Russia, who actually did settle the Pacific NW.
Also the the canard of “returning” is absurd. All the Mexican Nationals who lived in the territory at the time became American citizens.
The current southern Mexicans are complete strangers to the land.
Further, Mexico was happy to give up the land. Not only did they get money, they got assurances that the US Military would stop (or pay for) Apache and Comanche raids. Indeed Mexico pressed for the USA to take MORE land to create a bigger buffer.
Since a quarter of the population of Mexico has been freeloading off U.S. taxpayers for decades, the U.S. taxpayers are entitled to one quarter of the landmass of Mexico.
First take all of Baja all the way to Cabo San Lucus since it already has California in the name. We also take all the beaches on the other side of the Gulf of California until such time as we achieve one quarter of the Mexican land mass.
If Mexico is unhappy with this they can pay U.S. taxpayers back for the free housing, free education, free healthcare, etc with interest going back to 1965.
I’ve never accepted these historical ownership claims, historically correct or not.
If they want the territory, they can attack us to try and claim it.
They will lose and we will take their territory as they will be unable to stop us.
Simple as that.
The Comanches had a bit to say about that. LOL.
Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821 and lost the Mexican American war in 1848...only a handful of Mexican citizens lived on the land for less than 30 years
The prevailing winds and currents in the Pacific are from the northwest, meaning that sailing from Mexico to California is difficult. On top of that there are few good natural harbors in California until you get to San Francisco. The Spanish/Mexican seat of government for California was Monterey, the best harbor they had. At the time, all California had going for it was cattle and horses. So there wasn’t much incentive for Mexicans to go there.
Good point. And, note that if Mexico hadn't attacked us on April 24, 1846 (Thornton Affair), the then new nation of Mexico might still have land west of Texas. Mexico FAFO'd then, and it looks like they're FAFO'ing again.
Spain. Manifest Destiny fixed it.
The only history that matters is, they got their azzes kicked and lost.
“The further north in Mexico you go, the worse the geography gets.”
But the border towns are so nice.
Time to remove our factories from Mexico. Increases taxes to 100% on all remesas (remittances) to Mexico, Large fines for companies using illegals from Mexico.

By relocating these facilities back to the U.S., these companies can contribute more directly to the American economy while reinforcing resilience in critical sectors such as automotive, aerospace, and medical manufacturing.
A primary reason the Southwest became America was simple demographics.
The Gringos outnumbered local ‘Mexicans’ by a factor of 10 to 1.
Almost nobody lived on the land because turning the land into useable real estate took work, lots and lots of very hard work, which the Americans were willing to do, and the local inhabitants were not.
It was only when the hard work was done did we start hearing about ‘stolen land’.
This is not new. The exact same thing happened in what used to be called The Holy Land, or modern day Israel.
When American author Mark Twain visited the area in the late 1800s, he was stunned by how the locals lived.
He said it was like stepping back into the Bible. People still wore the same clothing as biblical characters and everybody got their water from the village well. Nothing had changed in 2,000 years.
Only when the pogroms of Europe drove Jews back to their homeland did the quality of life get better, with road building, irrigation, and modern medicines, updates like telephones, telegraph, electricity, etc.
Nobody complained about the Jews back then, only when the place became fit for human habitation did the locals suddenly lay claim to the improved property.
People always want what someone else has worked for, regardless of what’s right.
For those who doubt this, read about how Los Angeles got its water supply, without which nobody would be living there.
It was Americans who made the Southwest a place fit to live, and nobody else.
Left wing nonsense falls apart when people understand history, which is why left wing educators purposely do not teach history.
They don’t care. They will annex it to Mexico if they can. Dimwitted “liberals” who live there are their accomplices.
“They will annex it to Mexico if they can.”
Didn’t go well last time that was tried. I’m sure the US would love to takeover more Mexican territory.
Looking forward to a vacation in Puerta Viallarta.
Or, maybe they can be more responsible and take the path of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua. El Machismo Pobrecitos.
