Sen. Josh Hawley Launches Investigation Into Coordinated Unrest Targeting ICE — Demands Records from Pro-Immigration Group, Threatens Criminal Referral for Noncompliance

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) has launched an explosive investigation into the growing chaos engulfing Los Angeles and other Democrat-run cities.

As Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism, Hawley is demanding accountability from the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), a left-wing pro-illegal immigration group that has come under fire for allegedly funding and facilitating violent anti-ICE protests that have spiraled into riots.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that according to a damning exposé by investigative account @DataRepublican, several nonprofit organizations and shadowy political fronts played a pivotal role in igniting the chaos that saw federal officers attacked, flags burned, and city streets blocked.

But what’s more alarming: tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer money may have indirectly fueled the unrest.

At the center of the funding web is CHIRLA—the Coalition for Humane Immigration Rights. Documents reveal the group saw a shocking jump from $12 million to $34 million in government grants in just one year.

While most of that is believed to come from the State of California, the group has received federal funding as well.

According to @DataRepublican, photos from the scene of the riots show CHIRLA-linked materials and professionally printed signs that trace back to the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL)—a Communist group operating in the U.S. with no transparency and no registered nonprofit status.

“Our community is under attack and has been terrorized,” Angelica Salas, executive director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, or CHIRLA, told the crowd of protesters per LA Times. “These are workers, these are fathers, these are mothers.”

Hawley accuses CHIRLA of providing financial and logistical support for mob-style unrest, stating plainly: “Bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct.”

The Senator is demanding the preservation and production of a sweeping range of records from CHIRLA, including:

All internal communications, including emails, text messages, chat logs, and messaging applications, relating to protest planning, coordination, or funding.

All financial documents related to protests, demonstrations, or mobilization efforts in Los Angeles or elsewhere relating to immigration enforcement.

All third-party contracts or vendor agreements, including any arrangements with event organizers, transportation providers, security personnel, or communications consultants relating to immigration enforcement or the Los Angeles protests, or similar protests elsewhere.

Grant applications and funding proposals that relate to or reference immigration enforcement.

Travel and lodging records for individuals or groups supported or reimbursed in connection with protest activities.

Media or public relations strategies, including talking points, press releases, and coordination with journalists or influencers relating to immigration protests.

Donor lists.

Hawley also demands that the group "immediately cease and desist any further involvement in the organization, funding, or promotion of these unlawful activities."

Failure to comply with these demands, Hawley warns, could result in a criminal referral to the Department of Justice.

Too funny. Congress funds these groups, then argues the groups are the problem. (Ahem!) Do your jobs you useless body of contradictory acts.

Demands. Threatens. These gutless, limp-wristed Repukelicans are beyond worthless. The Demonic Party changes existing law or completely make up new laws to arrest and persecute the conservative, and these pansies in return do nothing but provide vaccuous, meaningless “threats”...

"[Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism Chairman] Sen. Josh Hawley Launches Investigation Into Coordinated Unrest Targeting ICE"

If only we had an Attorney General and a Department of Justice that would have the responsibility and the determination to do an investigation of the "Coordinated Unrest Violent Attacks Targeting ICE."

It’s actually dumb to start at the top here, that is, picking an organization to go after.

It’d be better and easy enough to investigate the finances, movements, and relationships of the ones actually caught doing crimes and find out what org they are working for.

ICE needs to investigate the Ca government for anyone hiding and aiding illegals. Bet half of the government could be arrested for harboring family members. Raid them and bet they will not be too happy with Newsom’s antics anymore...
