I went to archive.ph to read the article. Wow. The guy was married to a woman, not a guy and frequently threatened neighbors with various weapons and engaged in gunfire in the neighborhood. And he admittedly burned his own house down.

If there is a mail box, the post office will continue to put mail in it. I bought the lot next door and mostly tore down the frame house that was there. You can see straight through the framing and it is obvious no one lives there. I still find mail in the box and a couple times it was important gov. communications.
