Driving the news: In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel first obtained by Axios, Reps. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) and Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) asked that they "immediately clarify whether this allegation is true."
The lawmakers asked for a timeline of the DOJ's declassification and publication of the Epstein files, an explanation for why they haven't turned over any new documents since February.
And they requested a description of Trump's role in reviewing the files, a list of personnel involved in their release and an answer for why files previously released to Congress contained "significant redactions."
*** Bondi released more than 100 pages of documents related to the Epstein case in February as part of a Trump administration push to provide more transparency into a wide array of high-profile cases.
The files were substantially redacted, however, and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), the chair of the declassification task force, has accused Bondi of "stonewalling" her demands for more files. "We agree with their conclusion that the release of these documents is long overdue," Lynch and Garcia wrote.
What they're saying: Musk's allegation "implies that the President may be involved in determining which files should be released and whether files will be withheld from the public if he personally chooses," the two Democrats wrote.
They noted that Trump and Epstein's relationship has been well-documented. "Any attempts to prevent the appropriate release of the Epstein files to shield the President from truth and accountability merits intense scrutiny by Congress and by the Department of Justice," they added.

Dan and Kash already told us. The only stuff “in the files” is video of Epstein and teen girls.
Honestly, this “Epstein files” thing is kinda getting comical. They were going to release it, but then they didn’t.
The question a REAL press would still be pressuring them on is, “why are they not yet released?”

Trump never ceases to amaze me with his ability to turn his opponents, hatred and stupidity against themselves. I am quite certain that he didn’t do anything wrong WRT Epstein, and he certainly knows what the facts are, but before you know it, the Democrats and their entire captive media propaganda arm will be calling for a full and total release of all of the Epstein files… not realizing that this will slice their throats with the American public to an even greater extent than their stupidity, hatred and Communist ideas already have.

This could be fascinating. We all know that many Democrats are implicated in the Epstein files. My guess is that any calls for release of the files by the Left will be muted by many in party leadership.
But thinking about what the likes of David Hogg are saying about wanting to topple the old heads at the top of the party — this may be their opportunity to do so. Could be a big ol’ Democrat Party feud in the making here.
Then release everything, let the chips fall where may. If there was anything there hurtful to Trump, it would have come out before the election.

I tend to agree with you guys on this point.
Even if the democrat ‘intelligencia’ had people compromised by the “Epstein files”, I’m almost positive that there are those in the media (NYT, WaPo, CNN, etc) who would have thrown all of the democrats on the list under the bus in order to get Trump if Trump was in there.

Did those same democrats pressure the Biden DOJ and demand answers?
I can answer that. No.
And demand answers to an accusation? No.
Musk just offered them some fodder to attack Trump. However, the accusation is certainly not new.
It will be interesting to see which politicians start saying that this is just a “distraction” and that “time is better spent on other—more important issues.”
Those would be the people who are likely in the videos. LOL
There were pictures in The Daily Mail years ago of the front hall of Epstein’s mansion where a large painting of Bill Clinton wearing a blue dress hung on the wall. Can probably still find it online.
I suspect Trump and Musk cooked this up to force release of the records, knowing there is nothing to see that would implicate Trump. Certain people will now push for the release thinking they finally have Trump, and they will discover who the deviates really are, and it is mostly democrats.
