The parallels between WWI and the war in Ukraine are striking , especially in the massive loss of lives lost in a futile effort to wage a senseless war.

Leftists are at their heart utilitarians. Numbers and statistics. Breaking eggs to make omelettes. We are all eggs to them. 9 billion people in the world and that’s too many. Any mass casualty event is a net gain to a leftist.
Ukraine started with 60 year olds.

Ukraine’s future was never a concern except as a mechanism for moving money. Weapons to be bought and sold, defense companies making profits, paying their politicians and money pumped in with no accounting and a large amount of leakage back to the politicians. And don’t forget about the omelette. Ukraine is a large mixing bowl and the Ukrainians are a bunch of eggs. They won’t care because they will be dead.
What I’m about to say is racist and ethnocentric. If you’re sensitive, stop reading.
The horrible thing about the Russian-Ukrainian war is that the people dying are people who contribute to humanity.
These are nations with a high (99%) literacy rate and many of the folks dying have a higher education, are in the trades, own a business, etc. These are people that design and build things, who grow crops, mine the earth...
Let me explain it this way. If 750,000 people die in Rwanda in the late 90s, it will make no difference. It’s still a horrible thing and there is pain and suffering, but on a global scale it will make no difference.
However, some of the people dying in this Ukraine-Russian war are people who would have contributed to the arts, sciences, engineering, these are people whose loss, is a loss for all of humanity.
Somebody wants a Slavic Fratricide, they would love for the Poles to get into the fray, as well.
A tragic waste of humanity.
