Khamenei to Trump: 'Who are you to tell us we can't have a nuclear program?'
Arutz Sheva ^ | 4/6/25

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei today (Wednesday) rejected American pressure and proposals to end its nuclear weapons program, calling such proposals a violation of the principle of Iranian independence.

"The leader of our revolution is a great man whose presence in the world is still tangible after thirty-odd years since his passing, and the impact of his revolution is clearly visible to people around the world,” Khamenei said at an event marking 36 years since the death of predecessor, the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ruhollah Khomeini.

“The sharp decline in America's position in the world is due to his presence, and hatred of Zionists is due to his revolution,” he claimed.

“The Islamic Revolution of Iran surprised the Western world. They did not think that a single cleric, without equipment and financial resources, could lead a nation into battle,” Khamenei added. “They did not believe that this revolution and this Imam would be able to sweep away the Americans and the Zionists, who had dominated everything in Iran for years, and would be able to expel them from the country."

Addressing the negotiations with the US on Iran's development of nuclear weapons, he stated that Iran rejects the latest proposal from the Trump Administration because it "contradicts our principle of power by one hundred percent."

"It goes against the slogan 'we can', which is an important principle in our country's independence," he added.

Addressing US President Donald Trump, he asked, "Who are you to tell us whether we can have a nuclear program or not? We will not give up the ability to enrich uranium."

"Khamenei to Trump:'Who are you to tell us we can't have a nuclear program?'"

He's someone who can touch Iran with a momentary burst of the energy that powers the sun.

He is someone who who does not want to see the proliferation of nuclear weapon, especially in the hands of a country run by Islamic fanatics. And, unlike the Iranians, he has the overpowering means to make sure that doesn't happen.

First, the Iranians are not monolithic. There are plenty of people in Iran who would like to see the end of the oppressive fanatical regime that has held Iran since 1979.

Second, the threat from the fanatical, Jew-hating, West-hating factions in Iran is exactly why they cannot be allowed to become a nuclear state. They have been exporting terrorism around the world for many years, and allowing them to have nukes would further destabilize the world.

From the article:

“It goes against the slogan ‘we can’, which is an important principle in our country’s independence,” he (Khamenei) added.

Well, right back at ya.

Pakistan is a Sunni nation that can always use some billions of dollars cash. Or some corrupt general there can. Iran could have bought nukes from the them years ago but Iran is a Shiite nation. Plus the Muslim rulers there are secular type Muslims......

They are afraid of what the fundamentalist wacko (End Times Twelvers) Mullahs of Iran will do with Pakistani nukes. That if detonated can be traced back to originating from Pakistani nuclear reactors. Via the unique signature that the nuclear fallout will make.

Shiite Twelvers have a wacky, hilarious but dangerous End Times scenario that is all their own. Muslim f__kery at it finest.

It’s not the Iranian part you need to worry about but the Muslim part.

I would ask him, who are you to say that the state of Israel cannot exist? And that is a bad combination for nuclear weapons since logic would tell you that a person holding that opinion and possessing nuclear weapons could see fit to use them against Israel.

That being said, it is Israel’s primary responsibility to deal with the threat posed by Iran. They are fortunate to have this one good friend in the world, especially now that globalism has turned against them (an irony given that Jews almost universally embrace globalism). Apparently Zionism is a bridge too far for the Davos crowd, after all, it’s the real God who justifies a Zionist belief, not the false gods of Davos.

The Muslim part is correct. He boasts of the global growth of their revolution, because nobody stopped them. He boasts of the marginalization of the Zionists and western world, specifically the US.
Now we see the global tentacles in France, Germany and Britain. It’s alive all throughout the mideast. It’s in south America, central America.

Like a garden, the weeds can overtake the civilized domesticated plants. The longer the get to grow, the stronger they get snd harder to remove and kill.
This should have been dealt with long ago.
Their adventures in theology gave us 9/11. 9/11 is light compared to what’s coming.

Agreed. Given the repeated threats of “Death to America”, letting Iran get nukes would be like standing and doing nothing while your stalker reaches for his gun.

My worry is doing the wrong thing could unite Sunni and Shia and there are about 1 billion followers of Islam.

Reminder -- The Islamic Republic if Iran was born at war with the United States of America.
The USA has not deigned to declare war on them, but from their own point of view they have been
continuously (and officially) at war with the USA since day one in 1980.
