The Walls are Closing in on Ukraine

Key Points - Russia's lack of large-scale retaliation to recent audacious Ukrainian drone strikes deep within its territory does not signify weakness or fear, but rather a calculated confidence in its ongoing attritional strategy.

-Moscow is reportedly achieving its core, albeit limited, war aims—consolidating control over eastern Ukrainian oblasts, securing the land bridge to Crimea, and ensuring Ukraine's non-NATO, neutralized status—through methodical ground advances and superior industrial output.

-Russia is perceived to be "already winning" this war of exhaustion by fighting "smarter, not harder," and therefore sees no current need for dramatic escalations that could play into Western or Ukrainian hands.

Putin Doesn’t Need to Retaliate Against Drone Strike – He’s Already Winning the Ukraine War As of this writing, the world is still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Following Ukraine’s latest long-range drone and bomber raids deep into Russian territory – including an audacious strike on military infrastructure in Tatarstan and symbolic attacks near Moscow – there has been no large-scale Russian retaliation. No carpet bombing of Kyiv. No massed air campaign. No strategic escalation to match the hype swirling in Western media and Telegram channels alike. And so the question remains: Is Putin holding back? Or is he preparing to go big?

The answer lies neither in the skies over Belgorod nor in the bombastic statements from Kremlin representatives. It lies in the slow, methodical, grinding progress on the ground in Ukraine. That’s where Russia is winning the war – and why it doesn’t need to “go big” in some cinematic show... The West, trained by decades of airpower-centric wars, has become obsessed with spectacle. It expects grand escalations: shock and awe, decapitation strikes, dramatic red lines crossed in real time on cable news. But Russia’s strategy in Ukraine has long been the opposite of dramatic.

They play Chess. They are ignoring this Checkers move from Ukraine and more determined to win the game.
Trump has also said he didn’t know it was coming.

That means Z lied to him as he sat in the White House and Z did this a few hours before the negotiations Trump pushed very hard for.

Russian silence and Trump’s silence portends poorly for the Banderists.

“Does Russia anything or things that are comparable to China’s 3 Gorges Dam that if destroyed by a hostile power, would cause catastrophic damage to Russia in many ways?”

Russia’s Achilles Heel is their oil and gas revenue. That is what brought down the Soviet Union. The Russian Government depends more heavily on oil revenues, than does Saudi Arabia.

The “Bone-Crushing” Sanctions Bill (SB 1241), now advancing in the Senate with a filibuster-proof and veto-proof 81 co-sponsors signed on, and with the recently expressed support of the Speaker of House, is that Doomsday scenario for Russia.

It would levy 500% tariffs on any country that buys Russia’s oil, gas or uranium. Only China and India really matter (Turkey less so). If those countries stop buying Russian oil cold, it would be ballgame for Russia, even though it would play out over several months.

“One division, the worthless 14th SS, some concentration camp guards, and a few battalions of anti-partisan militias.”

Put that on a T-shirt and walk around Kiev, see what happens. SBU would arrest you without delay LOL!

“if they (Ukraine) can figure out a way to exterminate 40,000 Russkies on the border, it could be a brighter day.”

That is just a bit over the average monthly casualty rate.

If we pass it AND enforce it with teeth, I guess Russia could launch nukes in response.
Don’t even care anymore. If they do it means they were always going to. I’ll laugh as they go off. I used to believe in God.
Now I don’t believe in anything at all.

“Video of the Rostov crematorium, where the bodies of russian soldiers eliminated in Ukraine are burned.

“The people of Rostov are suffocating. I wonder, are these unaccounted bodies being burned? Who is burning at night at such a terrible speed that the pipes are heating up?”

They burn, and burn, and burn. The Rostov crematorium, where russian soldiers eliminated in Ukraine are regularly brought, works around the clock and without stopping.

No body - no case. No payments, no Lada Kalina. Only the smell of greatness floats over Rostov.”

The resident Russophiles will go into screaming bloody murder, neocon conniption fits when that bill gets through. The bill’s Senate author is Lindsey Graham.

Ukraine reported as having 23,000 casualties in May, while conscripting 1,700.

Russia is getting 30,000 volunteers a month, is taking the best 20,000. The Russian populace is angry over the latest civilian casualties and is with the govt on pursuing the war.

The claim of 40 Russian bombers being destroyed has a problem, only 5 have been identified on videos so far. They were virtually obsolete anyway according to military observers. Planes are too slow for nuke use now.

Yes, redemption is always possible. Our God is merciful and forgiving. Jesus always listens, He always cares. Just start by talking with Him, then let your heart feel His response.

We can do all things through Christ.

Russia only has three types of Long Range bombers, and all three types are still on Operational duty.

According to the World Directory of Modern Military Aircraft, an organisation that tracks and ranks the world’s air forces, Russia at the beginning of 2025 had 58 Tu-22Ms (Backfire), 47 Tu-95s (Bear), and 15 Tu-160 (Blackjack) bombers.

Although they technically still have production capabilty for the Tu-160, and have a few on order, none have been been built completely from scratch (including the airframe) since the Soviet Union dissolved over 30 years ago. The other two older types of bombers no longer have any semblance of a production capacity, whatsoever.

Out of the 41 aircraft hit, two were A-50 Mainstays (AWACS equivalent - which leaves Russia with only four of those operational), two were Ilyusin-78 long range aerial refuelers, and one was an Antonov-12 transport. So likely no more than 36 bombers were hit, and some number are likely repairable. At least 13 bombers were completely burned to a skeletal state, so no question that they are gone.

One little commented result of this this strike, is that even by conservative estimates of Russian losses, Russia now falls from second place to third place in Strategic bombers (behind China).

“That corrupt midget screwed with nuclear treaties“

Ukraine was never a party to that treaty, and Russia withdrew in 2023.

Regarding Putin’s nuclear bombers...This was posted by logi_cal869 to tlozo yesterday.

One who appreciates that he might not have been born had some MORON not decided to place Jupiter missiles in Turkey and that detente revolved around recallable bombers rather than missiles.

DUMBASS.
