Russian forces have continued to advance in the northern Ukrainian region of Sumy, bringing the regional capital within range of their drones and artillery, according to Ukrainian officials and analysts.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian military in the area, Ivan Shevtsov, said that in addition to trying to advance towards Sumy city, Russian forces were constantly shelling the area and more evacuations of civilians were taking place.
“At the moment, the territory that the enemy has already occupied is about 15 kilometers along the front line and about 6-7 kilometers deep,” Shevtsov said. He added that the Russians were trying to advance towards the town of Yunakivka, within a few kilometers of their current positions.
The Sumy military administration said that Russian troops had carried out almost 150 shelling attacks on 47 settlements in the region in the 24 hours to Tuesday morning.
For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed Tuesday that its forces had captured the village of Andriivka as they broadened the front, according to the official TASS news agency.
Shevtsov said that with further advances the Russians would be able to launch more coordinated attacks on Sumy city. Its current population is unknown, but before the war began it was home to about a quarter of a million people.
The unofficial Ukrainian group DeepState, which monitors the frontlines, reported that Russian forces had occupied another settlement in northern Sumy, putting them about 20 kilometers from Sumy city.
It said: “The situation in the north of the Sumy region continues to deteriorate due to constant pressure from the enemy and large numbers of infantry.”

I’m praying that President Trump stands firm and not become embroiled in the Neo-cons wars. If this country continues to send my tax dollars and weapons I helped pay for to Ukraine, to continue to fight another proxy war with Russia, I’m done. I didn’t vote for this.

In war, everything is fair. United States nuked civilians in Hiroshima & Nagasaki. It ended WW-II quickly. Slaughtering civilians during wars is older than invention of farming.

Trump is lashing out at senator Rand Paul over the BBB spending. I wish he would direct some ire towards senator Graham who is sending us into WWIII.
Joe is too senile to defend himself and Europe has been instigating a war with Russia that’s about to come home to roost, so they are setting Biden up to take the blame for the war, in the minds of the European public, so they can evade any responsibility.

Lula’s comment also said that Europe is following the lead of the United States in seeking the destruction of Russia.
That means the Deep State wants Russia 86’ed.
There seems to be a full court press to get the US unwilling involved in a war with Russia. It’s wouldn’t be the first time the US was set up to be goaded into a World War by Europe.

But this area is the only area that they have attacked en mass so far and they are heading South fast , not east west so much along the border
If they pincer Sumy like other smaller cities at this point of the war will the west try to airlift supplies in daring the Russians to shoot them down?
