Among those affected is the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, which received an NEA grant annually for decades. This year, the chorus was awarded $38,000 to support Rhythm, its music education program for local students. But its leadership received a notice from the NEA rescinding the funds, effective May 31.
But how are the groomers going to access the local school kids

I guess they will have to pay their own bills.

Is it safe to say these cuts dropped these fellows to their knees?
These cuts must be a real blow to them personally.
They should not just bend over and take it. Oh wait.

These folks can’t sing without taxpayer dollars?
Progressives are so ‘entitled’ in their own minds - that’s the sickening part.
I don’t care what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms but I’m tired of these people feeling their ‘kink’ allows them access to public funding for all their other activities.

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by the groups that our tax dollars have been funding all of these years, but it’s still kind of jaw-dropping.
Reminds me of Walter Benjamin’s description of the angel of history.
“Where we perceive a chain of events, he sees one single catastrophe which keeps piling wreckage upon wreckage and hurls it in front of his feet. “

“You can sing without government grants.”
The singing is secondary to what the group is trying to display. The efforts to create the appearance of a lifestyle based solely upon a recreational sexual deviancy is their efforts. And using this nonconformity and peculiarity to spread its message to youth using their sexual practices as a symbol is more to what they are trying to do. I still fault California for providing the funds to do it.

In the meantime, both SFJAZZ and the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus are urging local supporters to donate. If The Community wants The Community can bloody well pay for it.
...RHYTHM (Reaching Youth Through Music), an education program for students by the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus.
Yeah...about that "reaching youth" part...
