When corporations got rid of their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, many also axed their commitments to LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
Even before Donald Trump's executive orders terminating all DEI positions in the federal government, dozens of major companies had already abandoned their practices. Many made their decisions after conservatives online specifically targeted them for their policies and threatened boycotts, with failed filmmaker turned failed congressional candidate Robby Starbuck taking credit for spearheading the movement.
This withdrawal didn't just encompass inclusive work environments and hiring practices, or participation in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index — in abandoning DEI, companies also ceased many of their community partnerships. This included small businesses, minority- and women-owned businesses, and organizations supporting underserved groups: veterans, people of color, and LGBTQ+ people.
As a result, many of the companies abandoning DEI have stopped sponsoring Pride Month events. Here are the companies that have walked back their support, some of them after decades of allyship.

My experience, having worked in Manhattan for a long time, is employees don’t care what other employees do in their off-hours as long as they’re not committing crimes. (The state of one’s soul is a separate matter.) In fact, outside of “how was your weekend?” chatter, personal life comes up intermittently.
The gays with whom I worked were focused on work. Same with the straight people. The business of businesses is…business.
I bet many employees - straight and not - are relieved they aren’t being “forced” to mix business with bedroom this year.
pride fatigue
They should’ve NEVER started it, in the first place.
General Dynamics aggressively hired lesbians while I was there. I believe the reason was they could easily prove they were being “diverse” as you could spot the lesbians from down the hall. They were visually outspoken. It would not have had the same effect to hire gay men who dressed and looked like all the other men.
I have never had to work with so many angry, bitter, unhappy women. It was a relief to leave there.
To overcome the visual problem, my final male boss had a large, silver framed photo of his significant other, a Kenny Rogers looking man. As I recall “To the love of my life” was written on the photo. The photo did not face the boss as one might expect with such a photo. Instead, it faced towards his door where everyone could see it. Diversity achieved!
I just learned last night from my kid who works at Johnson & Johnson that they ended their drag queen performances for sp-called Pride Week. I had no idea that that was even happening. It’s extraordinary the power and money that the gay lobby has. God bless DJT. Make America “Straight” Again.
>>>They should’ve NEVER started it, in the first place.
What were they expecting, massive revenue increase? Sucked into some sort of hope & change BS!
There are a couple very gay guys at my job. They are both friendly and very competent. Neither flies the gay flag at work which I appreciate.
They removed the word Gay to Hide what’s really going on , recruitment
Bingo the younger the better.
Yes, what you describe seems to be the norm nowadays.
Brings to mind the old expression “…mind your business, and leave mine alone…”.
IMHO, militancy is an instant turnoff for most Americans, whatever the issue might be, gays, enviro, immigration, or the latest fad “Free Palestine”.
Nobody really cares what someone else does with their private time, and business is still business.
Focus on the task at hand and get on with it.
Excellent comment.
I worked in NYC for years, and the lesbian woman who occupied the cubicle adjacent to mine had up a picture of Vladimir Lenin! Almost all chatter was political with co workers, and whenever they tried to drag me in to it, I’d say, sorry, I don’t talk politics at the workplace. Until the last week after I’d given notice. I came out as a Trump supporter and got into a shouting match with that vicious lesbian. The pension and benefits were too good to leave sooner, but the last several years there were hell.
absolutely ZERO reason to be involved in a “pride” event, zero.
You are right about that!
Several tried to sabotage my GF’s business internally and thru yelp postings.
No pride month at Amazon.com. They always had banners for the latest woke crap.
Yikes.
Kind of a demeaning article towards Robby Starbuck.
In 2022 I decided that I would buy anything that I needed that Academy Sports sold because I had never heard of them being woke. I already bought my guns and ammo there. I signed up on their website and got some good deals on clearance items. Then, out of nowhere, they sent me an email with this title on June 1st:
“Celebrate with Pride! – starting at $25”
I cancelled my account and I have not been back in the store. They lost a lot of money with that stupid email. Idiots.
