They just have one little thing to solve and peace will come:
Russia wants all the land it has taken and will take, and Ukraine wants it all back.
Easy-peasy.

There will never be a cease fire or peace agreement as long as Zelensky is in power.
And Zelensky will be in power as longs as Uncle Sam keeps writing the checks.
Whether Trump fully understands that is unclear.
Or maybe he understands that and is checking boxes so that when he walks away he can honestly claim that he did all he could to get a peace agreement.

Notice how Zelensky always says memorandum for ceasefire?
Russia says a memorandum for peace and negotiation for ceasefire based on success in talks.
There is no valid reason that a ceasefire has to be at the beginning to negotiate a peaceful end.

Why have a ceasefire? So the Z man can reload? Make the deal for peace or don’t bother.

Whether Trump fully understands that is unclear.
What Trump has realized and understand perfectly well now is that, Putin can't be dealt with. It's like negotiating with the devil to not take any more souls.
Putin invaded to take all of Ukraine, and having lost hundreds of thousand dead and injured, he's not going to be able to explain why he sacrificed so many soldiers for noting. So, Putin is stuck with sticking it out.
Trump is understanding now why Putin is sticking it out and can't be brought into negotiations.
Anybody that doesn't understand where Putin is coming from, is willfully blind.

It would be a good time for Russia to present their peace proposal.

Both Zelensky and the Eurocrats are demanding a 30 day ceasefire because Ukraine is at a disadvantage and needs time to regroup, not because they want a negotiated end to the war.
Macron, Starmer, Merz, etc. have no real interest in seeing this war end, and are egging Zelensky on with maximalist goals like retaking Crimea, even though he didn't even think it was a hill worth dying on in 2014.

You get Dumber by the day.
Yet, you can't argue on the facts and just resorted to personal attacks. Your actions proves without any doubt, that it's YOU who is the dumb@ss. bTw, I didn't start the insults war, so, I'm just firing back in kind.
Say something smart, and I'll respond in kind.

Correction: I meant to say that Ukraine didn’t think Crimea was worth fighting for back in 2014 when it was first taken (Zelensky wasn’t President then yet, but he didn’t say or do much about it when he came into office either).

Thats a given.
But, its the same BS, just a different day.
After the last assassination attempt against Putin by the Banderite regime, it is a different ball game.
The Russians will hold on their present demands and add some more.
The Banderites successfully sabotaged any hope of a negotiated peace.

Oh I know. LOL The Green Booger wants a ceasefire to rearm and probably bring in some “euro peacekeepers”.
No way does Russia trust Zelensky or the EU/UK to honor an “unconditional ceasefire” which is what Zelensky demands.
Because Zelensky is so stuck on it with those clowns in the EU is exactly why distrust is at such a high level.
