Trump Admin Fast-Tracks Approval of Utah Uranium Mine in Mere Weeks

A rapid 14-day environmental review has seen a new uranium mine approved in Utah. The endorsement is part of a refreshed Trump administration process to fast-track permissions for energy and mining projects.

The Velvet-Wood uranium project received a green light on Friday. It is owned and operated by the Canadian company Anfield Energy.

The approval tick comes 11 days after the Interior Department ordered the Bureau of Land Management to review the mine’s environmental impacts within two weeks, as opposed to the prior timeline of months or years.

The dynamic new approach has been expected since President Donald Trump declared a national energy emergency back in January and reversed previous mining restrictions embraced by his Democrat predecessor.

From talk of acquiring Greenland and its vast mineral wealth to prodding Ukraine for minerals in exchange for help fending off Russia’s invasion, Trump has made the raw materials that drive modern life a pillar of his policies – foreign and domestic.

“This approval marks a turning point in how we secure America’s mineral future,” said Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum in a statement as seen by the Salt Lake Tribune.

“By streamlining the review process for critical mineral projects like Velvet-Wood, we’re reducing dependence on foreign adversaries and ensuring our military, medical and energy sectors have the resources they need to thrive.

“This is mineral security in action.”

That is how “the impossible” is done.

You just do it.

No foreign company should own land in the US.

A Chilean company and Australian company are going to end up copper mining in Arizona so that the copper ore can be exported to China... Oak Flats.

He fast tracked a few other Gold/ Silver/ Minerals mining companies a month ago.

Particularly interesting is Silver and Antimony. Antimony is necessary for artillery shells, something we are in very, very short supply of….and Silver in our aerospace weapons…..not to mention senile Joe cleaned us out with his welfare supply to Ukraine….which is becoming apparent.

That said, our TNT suppliers are out of country, I am sure Trump is working on that huge shortage ( boondoggle). As is, we are ill equipped for any major war.

https://www.twz.com/land/shell-game-the-worldwide-tnt-shortage

“We talk to a major U.S. artillery shell maker about how ongoing conflicts have severely strained the global supply of critical explosive compounds.

…. However, the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East have caused major shortages of both of these essential chemical compounds. Complicating matters further, the U.S. has not produced its own TNT for decades….”

Interesting to also note, we used to import the TNT chemicals from China, one of the world’s largest producers……the war mongers are sad we no longer do.

We are not ready for war, to many critical components are unavailable. Current DoD studies state we have just enough to last 7-10 days ( if another “ shock and awe” is attempted).

That said, senile Joe really screwed us with all the Ukie weapons give away.

Gold, Silver, Antimony,Uranium, rare earths, all in short supply, I will leave it up to individuals on how to invest in these, refer to Trumps EO mentioning by name those “ chosen”.

Due your own research, paper investments in these times may be hazardous.

Anfield recently acquired a U mill in Hanksville, UT. Nice to see mining and milling make a comeback, particularly in BF nowhere. Should help the economy of So. Utah.

Absolutely awesome! Cut through the ridiculous barriers the left loonies have erected the past 30 years!

The author wrote “prior timeline of months or years.” Ha! Try 10 to 20 years!

The USA don’t need more uranium, we need to tell JCarter to F off and reprocess our spend fuel all 90,000 tonnes of it. Feed that plutonium to fast reactors like the one being built in Wyoming. We have enough spent fuel and depleted uranium from enrichment for thousands of years worth of thermal power. We don’t need a single more gram we need to reprocess and pull the plutonium into MOX fuel for PWR/BWR and metallic fuels for fast spectrum reactors. When we do this we don’t need deep geological repository as the only waste is fission products with a 300 year retention time make glass out of them put them in a salt mine and walk away.
