A federal judge on Tuesday temporarily thwarted the Trump administration’s bid to kill Manhattan’s congestion pricing — ensuring the controversial program will stay in place until at least next month.
US District Judge Lewis Liman issued a restraining order that prevents the US Transportation Department from fining or punishing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority as the court battle over the toll rages on.
The ruling came down just one day before Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy had threatened that the government could start withholding federal funding and approvals for New York projects if the toll wasn’t nixed.
We’ve won — again,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement in the wake of the ruling.
“Judge Liman’s temporary restraining order is a massive victory for New York commuters, vindicating our right as a State to make decisions regarding what’s best for our streets.” *** The MTA and feds have been duking it out in court ever since Duffy first declared congestion pricing “dead” back on Feb. 19.
It prompted the transit agency to slap the Trump administration with a lawsuit, arguing the federal government can’t unilaterally end the program.
The restraining order ruling on Tuesday came after MTA officials asked the judge to step in when Duffy started setting deadlines to stop the toll – or risk losing access to federal cash.

Interstate commerce clause. It’s specifically called out as a federal role.
Trump needs to stay out, let NYC make their bed and burn in it.
Are those routes all state and city owned, or do they use federal funding?
Are they part of interstate travel infrastructure?

The intent of the Interstate commerce clause is to remove barriers to commerce BETWEEN states. This doesn’t seem to apply here.
Please don’t support the Leftist rationale of twisting the purpose and application the ICC for unconstitutional unlimited gov’t power.

He was a law clerk to Judge Pierre N. Leval [Peanut Boy & Rapin Bill] of the Southern District of New York from 1987 to 1988 before Leval was elevated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He then clerked for Justice John Paul Stevens [liberal stooge].
Unconstitutional federal funding of the states is another problem.

There are already multiple toll roads, tunnels and bridges around New York City. Why is this particular scheme any different?
So you are against providing relief to lower income people even though the law requires there to be alternate routes in order to establish the charge.
If NYC would vote for this, then why does it have RCV...?
I’m against enlarging the federal gov’t’s power beyond its limited constitutionally-delegated powers.
Providing relief to lower income people is a State’s issue for the people of each state to decide.
I don’t understand any middle-roader or conservative that lives there willingly. I know some cannot move due to family and other entanglements.
Apparently because the road in question is at least partially a FEDERAL road, built with federal funds, et cetera.

The federal government should convert sufficient federal buildings below 59th street into off-street parking garages, freeing up traffic lanes. This will eliminate Gov. Hochul’s excuse for her plan.
Is that the full list? Seems like there are more you’ve missed. What about the tranny in the military injunction? What about the orders to reinstate fired fed employees? Etc.
Judge Ana Reyes was kept off of this list as I couldn’t determine her religious affiliation.
