Moderna said on Wednesday it had withdrawn an application seeking approval for its flu and Covid combination vaccine candidate after discussions with the US Food and Drug Administration.
The company said it would resubmit the application later this year with vaccine efficacy data from a late-stage trial of its experimental seasonal influenza vaccine, which it expects to report this summer.
The decision comes a day after the US FDA said it would require new clinical trials for approval of annual Covid-19 boosters for healthy people under 65 years old.
Shares of the company have been battered by declining Covid revenue as well as investor concerns spurred by the appointment of the vaccine skeptic Robert F Kennedy Jr as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The shares fell another 1.4% in premarket trading on Wednesday.
The company has been banking on revenue from newer mRNA shots to make up for falling sales of its Covid vaccine and less-than-expected uptake of its respiratory syncytial virus vaccine, which sent its shares down nearly 60% last year.

We have all learned in the last few years that drug company trials are a sham. Steps should be taken to make sure that they can not influence those trials in any way.
Maybe got a heads up that RFK is going to advise we still jab babies and others like crazy, but we spread out the timing of it a bit.
ZERO trust in them after covidfrenzy. I quit getting those shots years ago and never even considered the CONvid vaxxes. Just say “NO!”
RFK, Jr. is on the job. Big Pharma’s experimental drugs will no longer be rubber stamped for approval. Government is working again.

Good..and I read how RFK jr removed the covid vaccine for kids and pregnant women, its about damn time..but enough damage has been done, why a pregnant woman would get the damn clot shot I’ll never understand
They removed many people from the placebo groups before the studies were completed. They also removed anyone getting sick very early on from the studies.

For covid, there is a traditional, protein-based alternative. I've taken it 3 yrs in a row w no side effects and importantly, NO covid.
Stay away from mRNA poisons.
I wonder how much money they threw at this seriously bad idea?
