OPINION:

“My dad was a property developer as well as a part-time farmer. And yeah, some of his buddy farmers got killed. … It’s a constant battle. They’re trying to burn the farms down to chase you away,” South African professional golfer Retief Goosen said Wednesday. He was describing the racial strife in South Africa at an Oval Office meeting with President Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa...

The MSM’s unified position on this is that they won’t acknowledge racially-based murder happens in SA until the perpetrators report on themselves.

Unsubstantiated, debunked, etc. Doesn't matter how much evidence they see.

It doubtless has happened years ago but this current administration (and POTUS) do themselves no favors by making howling mistakes during their White House ambushes. I know President Trump is a fully paid-up convert to the Post Truth movement, but there are times when facts matter.

President Trump presented arguments to Cyril Ramaphosa that included footage taken by Reuters in Goma, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC, approx. 2000 miles away from South Africa.) American Thinker (the source of Trump’s point) has itself acknowledged the error:

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2025/05/the_media_pounces_on_a_small_trump_error_to_distract_from_the_bigger_truth_about_south_africa.html

Secondly, the whole thing about crosses - they’re not recent memorials to recent murders. They were put up as a symbolic protest, five years ago, by Afrikaners, in response to two specific murders. They were taken down a couple of years ago, after two men were convicted for those particular murders, and sentenced to life and 21 years imprisonment respectively (in 2022).

Imagine if a world leader with an ax to grind ambushed POTUS with a rant about how George Floyd was murdered by a racist copper, using it to argue America has a genocidal police force, and blaming the Trump administration for it - while Trump was on a diplomatic visit.

What would the reaction here be? I suspect their being so spectacularly wrong on the details as to totally discredit any valid point they’re trying to make, wouldn’t win over American hearts and minds, to put it very mildly.

Gosh, I missed the show. Was sorting my sock drawers.

Must be true if said on The View. /S

That media woman refused to believe the pictures of graves at the press conference. She probably watches the show all the time.

Basically its interesting that their strategy has been denial. The media use words like “unfounded” or “false claims”.

No

“....Yes, this is a situation where the U.S. needs to be involved....”

The USA has a financial crisis. We need to scale back on our role as international policeman. We can accept refugees....fine. But it is not our role to send troops.

If you look at what happened just to the north in Zimbabwe (or what use to be called Rhodesia) to white farmers there, you will see that this is a similar “culture” kind of thing.

Not war involvement. Bringing in the farmers involvement. Ignoring the Left and their handmaiden media will be difticult enough.

South Africa has a very high murder rate. So we are not supposed to care about white farmers being killed, because a lot of black South Africans are also getting killed.
