New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte Signs Bills Banning Sanctuary Cities

New Hampshire’s Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte signed a pair of bills into law Thursday that place bans on sanctuary city polices in the Granite State.

“There will be no sanctuary cities in New Hampshire,” Ayotte said during the bill signing, according to New Hampshire Bulletin. “Period. End of story.”

The two bills that are now law — House Bill 511 and Senate Bill 62 — ban municipalities and counties in the state from putting in place policies that prevent local officials and police from cooperating with federal immigration officials such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Among other requirements, House Bill 511 requires local governments to comply with ICE detainers and bans cities from making policies that would refuse to recognize immigration directives. For its part, Senate Bill 62 prohibits cities from passing rules preventing police departments from entering into resource agreements with ICE.

Yep, we can’t have “city-states.” We’re not Ancient Greece.

Make Martha’s Vineyard a sanctuary city.

Nice, Governors wield great powers. It’s why NYS and California are in distress.

As you probably know, back in 2022 was. But only for a short period of time. Then the worthy liberals on the island got tired of playing guardian angel, and called the governor.

The illegals were removed.

That’s among many reasons we’re moving there next Spring. Already have 31 acres with a renovated mobile home, just need to sell our house in MA and build one up there.

...and the roads are SO much better.

You are a welcome refugee from MA.

We are NY escapees. We were planning on retiring here anyways, but once that horrible abortion up until the moment of birth bill got passed and CELEBRATED in Albany, that sealed the deal. We started house hunting and God provided us with a great property.

NY has just gone further down the tubes faster than I would have thought once hochul took over. I didn’t think anyone could be worse than cuomo. Boy, was I ever wrong.

“The anti-sanctuary bills were highly popular in the state Senate and House. In February, the House passed its bill in a landslide vote with a bipartisan 351 to 6 majority.”

Impressive.

I’ve noticed.

There’s a guy in our church that holds political office and I’ll talk to him about it Sunday.

He’s VERY conservative.

She took over for Sununu this year. NH has a 2-year governor’s term.

So it’s a quick turnover.

It helps that the NH State House, Executive Committee, and State Senate are all in control of the GOP.

The problem starts when you get to the Federal elections.
That brings in all the big money from out of state to buy a Congress or Senate election.
The Dems are good at spending a lot of money every two years to get their federal candidates elected.
However, the typically don’t care about the state elections.

You remember how they acted and how it was covered in the media?

It was extraordinary how that was presented. Showing the liberals smiling and clapping as they were put on busses and removed from their neighborhoods, and presented them as welcoming unlike Florida, Texas, etc.

In NH are the remnants of an interesting factoid from our earliest colonial days when the assumption was that the more reps per population was the best protection against tyranny.

<>New Hampshire is also by far the largest legislative body in the country, with a massive 400 members representing 203 legislative districts.<>

Tiny NH has population of 1.1 million. That is 2,750 citizens per rep.

Nearby and equally colonial MA has 7.1 million people and 157 reps. That is 45,222 citizens per rep.

NH is GOP. MA is of course marxist rat.
