50% is a reasonable tariff to place on the E U since we are going into 80 years of the Marshall plan to help Europe recover from World War 2. Eighty years, when Truman was president. I wasn't even born yet. It's time to cut these freeloaders loose. In addition, let's make them pay for their own defense. June 1 is as good a date as any.

They are talking about this issue on Steve Bannon’s War Room this morning, besides screwing us over trade the EU is also screwing us over military spending, it was pointed out the US has two Carrier Battle Groups in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf basically protecting merchant ships from the Houthis, the ships are headed for ports in the EU when the EU has no country capable of dealing with the Houthis.
We are protecting ships bound for the EU to keep their economies going while at the same time the EU is screwing us by putting tariffs on the US products effectively keeping them out of the EU.
We should have never paid to be the world’s policeman. They owe us trillions for that.
I really think it should have started at 100% and gone up form there.
Add to that, the people who control Europe no longer share our Western value of liberty.
Well, to be fair, roughly half the US population no longer shares our Western value of liberty.
We should have taken the rest of world off U.S. welfare decades ago. I’m tired of being the worlds sugar daddy an our military mercenary for the world while the rest of the world commits token everything.
Tariffs need to be levied for national defense production ability, financial balance and playing field leveling.

The Marshall Plan formally ended in 1951.
Germany has stepped up defense spending to 5 percent of GDP, more than us (3.6 percent).
BUT:
Two of the biggest problems now for Germany are a million or so non-assimilating immigrants, mostly Islamists, and the cost of energy (4x what we pay since they dumped nuclear).
Without replacing their left-wing governments, all the European nations are doomed. It’s probably too late for most of them.
And us too, since we can’t even implement the obvious needed budget cuts earmarked by DOGE, to insulate us from insolvency.
The euro’s are absolute parasitic socialist losers who whine incessantly while posturing that are better than others. Let them support their arrogant insanity.
