WASHINGTON (AP) — Carrying out mass deportations was a key rallying cry during Donald Trump’s campaign for the presidency. Since the day he was sworn into office, his administration has focused on how to make that rallying cry reality.
They’ve touted their policy of going after “the worst of the worst” — meaning people who’ve committed crimes in America — while leaning on some nations to take migrants who the U.S. has difficulty deporting to their own countries.
They’ve removed protections from hundreds of thousands of people the Biden administration admitted on a temporary basis into the country with the aim of eventually making them deportable.
Here’s a look at the strategies that the Trump administration is using, how they’re targeting people for deportation and some of the challenges they’re running into:
Immigration enforcement officials have repeatedly portrayed their initial efforts as going after people they describe as “the worst of the worst.” Those are people who pose public safety or national security threats, people who’ve been arrested or convicted of committing crimes in America or who ICE determines are gang members.
On their social media feeds, they posted a constant stream of photos of people arrested by ICE and crimes they’re alleged to have committed.
Previous administrations have also prioritized people who are considered public safety threats so that strategy isn’t necessarily new.
What is different under the Trump administration is that ICE agents now have authority to arrest other people they find with immigration violations when they’re going after “the worst of the worst.” These are called “collateral arrests” and they weren’t allowed under the Biden administration. As one ICE agent described it: “Nobody gets a...”

Thank you very much and God bless you.
President Trump increases CHOICE in America!
I hope so.
Staple a printed application for asylum in Mexico to each catapultee. See how that works over there.
There are ways to deport people to their own countries even if those countries refuse them. Old freighters can be loaded with deportees then escorted into harbors and left there with disabled engines. It has been done in the past. They could be stocked with sufficient traditional open lifeboats.
What a load of hogwash! Biden & Mayorkas were going to "eventually make them permanent" and "eventually make them Democrat voters." Those swine had NO INTENTION of ever deporting them. Ever.
Just "without permission." Nothing serious here, folks. They only forgot to say "Mother, may I?"
They expected Mother to say "Yes, you may. Take six bunny hops to the waiting jet plane" But Mother caught their error and said "Deportation for you!"
I am enjoying the ad Kristi Noem put out about “leave now” - my radio station plays it hourly:
“President Trump has a clear message: if you are here illegally, we will find you and deport you. You will never return. But if you leave now, you may have an opportunity to return and enjoy our freedom and live the American Dream,” \
“If you are a criminal alien considering entering America illegally: Don’t even think about it. If you come here and break our laws, we will hunt you down. Criminals are not welcome in the United States.”
Hope it’s also playing on Spanish language radio stations.
1) cut off all public funding of any kind to illegals....no education, food, housing and while I would not deny medical care, I would pick them up at the hospitals and ship 'em out directly from there.
2) aggressively go after employers. I mean not only fines but PRISON TIME for managers and owners. People will stop hiring illegals when they know they're going to pay a price for it.
Once you cut off these two sources of money, tens of millions of illegals will quickly have no choice but to leave. And if blue states want to pay for illegals, cut whatever funding they get from the federal government until they comply and stop providing money to illegals. All of it. Not one red cent until they comply. Break them financially.

Same here. I’m hoping it’s also playing on Spanish speaking radio and TV. It is a well done PSA.
“Thank you, President Donald J. Trump, for securing our border and putting America first. President Trump has a clear message: if you are here illegally, we will find you and deport you. You will never return. But if you leave now, you may have an opportunity to return and enjoy our freedom and live the American Dream. If you are a criminal alien considering entering America illegally: Don’t even think about it. If you come here and break our laws, we will hunt you down. Criminals are not welcome in the United States.”
