Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is issuing a bill that would effectively eliminate the multimillion-dollar birth tourism industry, where foreign nationals secure temporary visas to the United States for the sole purpose of delivering their unborn children who then secure birthright American citizenship.
While President Donald Trump seeks to end birthright citizenship for the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens, Blackburn is looking to ban birth tourism.
Annually, an estimated 33,000 U.S.-born children are rewarded birthright American citizenship solely because their foreign parents arrived in the U.S. on a temporary visa, often a tourist visa.
Decades later, those U.S.-born children can sponsor their parents for green cards.
The birth tourism industry is widespread among Turkish nationals in New York City, Chinese nationals in California, Russian nationals in Florida, and Middle Easterners in Illinois.
Blackburn, Breitbart News has exclusively learned, is introducing the “Ban Birth Tourism Act” to effectively ban the industry within the U.S.
“Foreign nationals have been exploiting our nation’s immigration laws for far too long, taking advantage of the system to come to the United States for the sole purpose of giving birth to obtain U.S. citizenship for their children,” Blackburn said in a statement.
In particular, Blackburn’s legislation would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to ban giving birth as a permissible basis for obtaining a temporary visa to the U.S.
“The Ban Birth Tourism Act would prevent foreign nationals, including those from adversaries like Communist China and Russia, from buying American citizenship for their children,” Blackburn said. “As President Trump works to end birthright citizenship, we need to get this bill to his desk.”

For what? Please show us where in the constitution it states that children of foreign nationals are subject to the jurisdiction thereof in this country.

Why would you need an Amendment to prevent handing out visas to pregnant women? It is that simple.
NBCs, by definition cannot be dis-seized of their U.S. citizenship.
They are ours.
They are who we are.
If Trump and Blackburn succeed in closing this loophole it will get us as a polity much closer to an accurate understanding of what Constitutional NBCs are (so many nudnicks thinking that mere birth in a U.S. state or in Washington D.C. does the “trick”).
NBC status means no foreign spice at birth. Plain Vanilla Citizens. U.S. America-flavored individuals. No direct foreign connections through their parents.or their place of birth. That’s the basic soup-stock of this recipe. The rest can get the heck out of here (at least out of the office of POTUS, their only current disability).
It would be great if Rubio and Cruz and Gabbard and Jindal and Haley and Don Jr. and Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump and Barron Trump and other good non-NBC U.S. citizens would speak with one voice to explain the true patrimony we have here in terms of undiluted civic ownership and basic “belongingness”.
A U.S. statute should do it.
Congreess has the constitutional power to establish “an uniform Rule of Naturalization”. If Congress says that such children born here of wayward foreigners are not “ours”, not “us”, that’s that! No Constitutional Amendment needed.

IMO, the codification process into a legislative statute will simple and finally eliminate this multimillion-dollar “birth tourism industry.”

The El Paso Intelligence Center of the Drug Enforcement Agency must have had the names of hundreds of women associated with Latin American drug kingpins who sent wives and mistresses to the USA (Houston was a favored site) to have anchor babies born here.
Marsha, Marsha, Marsha... There is nothing to preclude SCOTUS from dumping on ANY legislation you and your weak-kneed cohorts may pass. It’s all good for sound bites and contributions. But, at some point there must be a true accounting.

The BEST solution is a Constitutional Amendment to define citizenship, including that parents must be US Citizens in order to confer any sort of ‘birthright’ citizenship.
This should be a large element of a Convention of States.
I met a woman whose “job” was as a surrogate for foreign couples. She provides an American born baby born to an American citizen to a foreign couple.
This is one way to get rid of the foreigners’ crap on American soil and be awarded citizenship “birthright”.

Marsha Blackburn has been in DC for over 20 years. Corrupt AF, all she does is flap her gums. Always a day late and a dollar short. Saw her do a phone interview from her office with Bannon a few months ago. She still has a picture of GW Bush proudly displayed on the wall behind her.
