Countries around the world are actively seeking alternatives to the US dollar for international trade and reserves. This trend has dramatically increased in 2025 as numerous countries are adopting different approaches to wean themselves off the American currency, reflecting a vital change in the world’s financial system since World War II.…..
…… of writing, major economies from Asia, Africa, South America, and even some parts of Europe are following their own footsteps in leaving the dollar hegemony behind. This movement is fundamentally altering global trade patterns and also putting into question the international monetary arrangement which has been around for almost eight decades.
Complete List of Countries Leading De-Dollarization Efforts….. The U.S. (dollar) will continue to be a leading world currency, (but) it will no longer be the dominant world currency.”
They will also stop using US banks to clear international transactions. That makes it harder for the U.S to impose sanctions on other countries.
What can you say? Congress passed a law to steal money Russia had deposited in western banks. There was sure to be fallout.
If America’s Economists can devise any strong incentives for these countries to reject the New BRIC in town and stay with the American Banks, they better start speaking up about it now. Threats or vague, ominous statements won’t stop them. Once that traditional currency link is broken, it is bound to stay that way for several years as these countries assess the results of the experiment.
More horsepuckey from Horsepuckey Central. America is THE major market for so many countries and companies. For all of the economic ups and downs, EVERYONE still wants to come here; everyone still wants to sell their shhhtuuff here.
A big part of Trump’s middle east trip was to strengthen the Petro Dollar and put the kybosh on chi-NA and its allies. The dollar is still King for the foreseeable future. This will kill the dimocrats.
The author forgot to list the major economies.
Yup. we da man. Gonna stay da man.

Well, yuh know... "China, the Rep. of S. Africa, Venezuela, and White Russia" just doesn't have the same ominous ring to it.

I’m not sure China was what the author had in mind for “Asia.”
If so I’m not sure China can be said to have, or be planning to, decouple from the dollar. They already play games with the dollar trying to devalue it so I’m also not sure it would hurt us if they did. I think it would hurt them more.
I’m mighty scared that we’ve lost Africa though! /s
Other than China? I don’t know.
Bingo. And the reception he received by the host countries was EPIC and UNPRECEDENTED.
Love my President Donald J Trump!
If this turns out to become a trend, we’re going to have to do something about it. Hey, I know, let’s send Ukraine hundreds of billions more, crank up the war machine and increase the rate at which we continue to add trillions to the national debt. What could possibly go wrong?
Yep. when you do that no one is going to trust us. And rightfully so.
When did this occur?
There has been a lot of movement against dollar dominance in the last few years. It is still the leader, but the erosion of that leadership has been serious as the charts at the link reflect. And I haven’t seen any reason to imagine that the trend will be reversed any time soon. If Congress and Trump got serious about getting the federal deficit under control, such that the Fed could stop debasing the dollar, it might stand a chance. But despite the fanfare of DOGE little actual spending has been cut compared to what is needed, and Congress is completely AWOL when it comes to cutting spending for unconstitutional and/or wasteful activities.
Is China behind this? LOL
Hard to believe there’s any country in the world stupid enough to trust China with their currency. Then again PT Barnum said, “There’s a sucker born every minute”
Or maybe African countries are up to their eyeballs in...
