Tulsa City Council to feature Hindu prayer amid new moment of silence policy

TULSA, OKLA. (KTUL) — The Tulsa City Council will begin its meeting next week with a Hindu mantra prayer, despite a recent policy change to replace opening prayers with moments of silence for reflection.

This decision follows a controversial pagan prayer at a council meeting last November, which prompted the council to vote in January for the change.

A Tulsa City Councilor explained that the Hindu prayer is permitted because the individual signed up before the deadline to switch to moments of silence and reflection, which is at the end of this month.

The pagan prayer last year drew attention from Governor Kevin Stitt and concerned residents.

One resident said, "Really it felt very satanic to me."

In January, the council voted eight to one to eliminate open prayers at meetings.

Councilor Christian Bengel, the lone dissenting vote, said, "I wasn't open to the idea of taking away an avenue of access, but it's okay with me. The moment of silence or personal reflection still accomplishes the same thing because there are weeks when we didn't have a prayer and we still had that moment of silence."

Bengel added, "As long as people understand I do support the First Amendment right."

When asked if there are plans to reinstate opening prayers, Bengel said, "There has to be an appetite."

The city confirmed that the person delivering the Hindu prayer next week signed up before the rule change.

Tulsa has been inundated with trash from the west. They elected a black democrat mayor who is nothing but a social justice grifter.

This city council also paraded in the fag pride parade. Etc.

Liberals are executing their game plan and okies are too stupid to recognize it: invade and infect the large cities and universities and bend the state to do their will. Cf. Colorado. Orygone. Etc.

When they bow down to one, they must bow down to every one including made up ones. There aren’t enough days in the year for them all. The US was formed upon one God and Christianity, not Oomgawa on the planet Ziggy.

That is going to go well for them, poking their finger in the eye of God Himself before every meeting...fools.

It didn't take them long to cave in; now it's anything goes.

I believe the best translation of the main Hindu prayer, the one to the sun god, is:

"We meditate on the glory of that Being who has produced this universe; may He enlighten our minds."

So the city council might be angling for a prayer that sounds like it can be to whomever the listener wishes it to be (Jesus or Allah or Surya). Kind of like listening to a Michael W. Smith song from the 80's or 90's and asking "Is that a Christian song? I can't tell." LOL

Every single county in OK voted for Trump over Harris in 2024.

Seems there are enough libtard malcontents on the Tulsa City council for this to happen, though.
